United fans getting the same treatment. Being forced to move to make way for a new hospitality section next to the dugout.
Yes, you did hear it right in the report. The 'Merseyside derby'. BBC North West are fucking useless.
The old chap was bang on when he said - " I've been loyal to them(united) but they haven't been loyal to me".
Loyalty should be a two way thing and loyal supporters should be first priority by our club owners( and all club owners) but it's evident that they care less and less about our core fans each season.
Now is the time to show your discontent about how the club are treating you and fellow blues, stand up and protest together, it's the only way to get prices reduced, not just frozen! Don't turn a blind eye with an "I'm alright jack" attitude because you can afford your SC and match tickets at the moment. If that's the case fair enough but can you afford to go in future seasons? Think about it because the club don't want season ticket holders, they don't even need or want your loyalty but things will change, especially when we're no longer competing for trophies.
I had a SC for years but I decided to become a full time carer for my elderly mother so gave it up end of 21 season. I didn't have the time nor could I afford it when I started receiving carers allowance. Since she passed away in 22 I've been going to games when I can, usually when my mate lets me have his SC for a game or when I've got cheap tickets off here. Thing is I've got out of the habit of going to live games nowadays and I'm OK about it because I can watch every game on UK TV or on foreign streams on my FireStick.
When I watch on TV I don't worry about not being able to park on Clayton Lane, I dont have to worry about being crammed on a tram, I don't have to worry about why VAR has ruled out a goal because they don't replay and controversial incidents on the stadium screens. I'm ambivalent on how I feel about not going all home and some away games anymore but I'm definitely not as passionate about City as I was. I felt valued by the club for years until recent seasons, now I know my loyalty to City means fuck all to the club and that saddens me.
And the sad fact is - the more successful we have become the more greedy our avaricious owners have become in annual price increases. Khaldoon Al Muberak said local fans matter at the end of his two part end of season speech last year. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say at the end of this season when he speaks to Chris Bailey again.
I'm not holding my breath because he and Sheikh Mansoor have both lived an affluent life since birth. They simply have no idea what it's like to struggle to afford attend games at the expense of not eating properly or being able to afford to heat their house, or be on the breadline. They are so out of touch with reality(our reality) it's worrying.
Don't be appeased and don't be satisfied by a begruged olive branch price freeze offering. No. Stand up, speak up and take action on being taken for granted as a mug 'customer'. Keep protesting your dissatisfaction till the club listen and take action. But more importantly, value you and treat you with respect as a loyal supporter...
