Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

i am at ease with matchday prices being much closer to season tickets, for me a season ticket is more about convenience, the certainty of a seat and the perks it gives, not being a season ticket holder doesn't make you less of a supporter it just means your circumstances are different. It's a brilliant move from the club, an opportunity with the new stand for so many local kids to get the chance to see the blues, the club have got it spot on with this.

I took part in the protest and supported and encouraged all groups when they took some flak from the “I’m alright Jacks”.

However, the cynic in me is interested to see if/when we get back up to the level of winning leagues and latter stages of the Champions League whether they will remain the same.

It was clear last season that the pricing was wrong by the amount of empty seats on view when we weren’t winning every week like the “norm”.

Also in the category A games, £40 - £60, how many £40 tickets will be available? It could be 1 or it could be 10, it could be 1000, but if it’s the first two, the claim that you can now watch the Manchester Derby for 43% less money is a great bit of PR even it it only applies to 10 people.

Either way, it’s a win for fans and it doesn’t matter to our pockets whether the club have done it out of the kindness of their heart or whether the calculations on the excel sheet were showing low numbers but the fight must continue and the pressure on the club must never stop.

The only way that I can see a loophole in what they announced is how many tickets will get given to the ticketing partners and how many to Citizen members?

The devil will always be in the detail.

MSRP isn't always the price most punters pay.

It’s a bit like the 4,499 heavily pregnant Blues / season card holders who hardly got to games last season.

Will be interesting to see how many games end up as category A rather than the cheaper B and C .

The £35 Adult match day membership, you get a £15 online voucher also 10% off merchandise. Also it says £5 off all home games wonder if that's all ready been applied on the new ticket prices, maybe not ?
I'm guessing the price quoted is after the £5 discount as it says Citizens match day prices. For cup games this would be price, including discount.

Thinking back to when I was much younger, we had 3 different prices for a ST depending on when you bought it but, when that stopped I've no idea how much of a saving a ST was against pay on the gate.

I'd surmise that the 'big' gap is a relatively new thing, certainly since we we formed in 2008.

I don’t think they’ve made any commitment on cup ticket prices, apart from the normal domestic cups, before Q/F max, that they always have.

It’s probably asking too much but there’s no real reason, other than a bit of admin, why, if they’re encouraging people to buy in bulk in July, they couldn’t offer direct debit terms, similar to ST holders.
That’s true, but here’s an idea; avoid the need for any of that by just putting all the matchday tickets on sale a month before each game! ;-)

Sorry, yes. I meant they quote the prices with the discount included. I didnt mean cup ticket prices would be the same as league games.

I wonder if the club will invite a waiting list of fans who can register an interest in purchasing a new season ticket for the expanded North Stand,to gauge interest and try to get as many sold in second half of the season, subject to it being ready of course.

Does anyone know how many PL cat A, B and C games we had last season. Obviously we lost Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich which I assume were all cat C and they will be replaced by Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland which may be one cat A and 2 x cat B?

I don’t City have had official Category’s. Or at least not for a very long time.

But the flexi prices were in five bands last year, which is probably a decent guide.

5-4-9-1

But the 1 was probably just so the money worked out right and would be in with the 9 really.

I reckon Leeds might be in the middle category. So my best guess would be.

5-5-9.
