Priced out?

Lads and lasses it’s gone .. football has eaten itself I earn a quite good income along with Mrs snake , I lost my season card through illness I would like it back along my daughter but it’s not happening , the club are not interested. It’s soul destroying now I’m back in work etc.. my youngest wants to go so much but match day prices are not sustainable. The last decade or so has been brilliant but.. I feel city has lost its soul what we had and was lauded for.
Unfortunately its a common theme, thats awful that they wont let you back after illness, what a bunch of shitbags.

They dont give a toss about regular fans and I dont think they understand fan culture at all at the top, as you say the last 10 years have been brilliant but.

We have lost our soul.

The thing is there was an inevitability to losing our soul as we became incredibly successful and “global”. In fact by dint of being n the PL it was going to happen. But when the takeover gathered steam the motto was “local but global”
And that’s what’s hurting so many of us - that the club hasn’t tried harder to keep the local part of the club.

I agree. We have taken eveything we hated about United in the 90s and 00s to another level altogether.

Not being able to find you season tickets again when there are thousands of fucking nobodies and away fans all over the home ends is a fucking joke.

It’s the sort of thing you should go to the press with. Start embarrassing the club in public over it.

They’re quick to release photos of fans who invade the pitch to the press or quick to agree with Liverpool over tragedy chanting to the press before even investigating it or quick to release a statement by Joel Glazer about the Super League as an official club statement… and then not one bit quick to defend or look out for City fans after Istanbul or when Liverpool fans hospitalised a teenage girl (couldn’t find close-ups photos that night could they?!).

I used to do a bit of caddying at Didsbury golf course and occasionally Mere.

We used to do it at Northenden. Had a couple of regulars who’d drop us a fiver a go. That was more than the paper round paid for getting up at 6 am, 7 days a week.

Was great until my idiot mate decided to rob something from the club shop. Then that was the end of that.

It’s OK, because tomorrow night’s attendance along with 3000-4000 empty visible seats (on TV) will send a clear message to Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon, Soriano and the board, with another 8000 seats to fill in 2025/26
Bottom 2 tiers it is looking about 5% listed and some will turn up anyway, and won't be very noticable. It is the third tier were over 10% are listed, however the vast majority already sold bar 2 blocks.

If people with STs don't turn up then the club will argue they should charge more (for STs anyway). The cost of my ST is £42 and would be £46 to buy the seat with a membership.

By City standards the prices aren't that bad for tomorrow for a Europa League contenders clash, but everything else is kicking in, performances, transport issues especially for night games, time of year, temperature, winter illnesses.

I fully agree this should be a wakeup call for the extended north stand plans, we have had unusually high demand since 2022, and we may be over the zenith after and upwards curve since the 2006/07 nadir. Well it was a decent 17 years.

We went golf balling a few times at Northendon.

Spot on. They could've taken us all along on the ride - long-standing fans, local fans, new fans, and tourists - without alienating any of those groups of people, but they've chosen not to. People who say that's part of modern football when you become successful are missing the point. It literally doesn't have to be like that. You can cater for all types of fan without pissing them off and still make a lot of money as a result. The short-sightedness of some at our club is now coming to the fore with this recent run of results and the decision to farm out thousands of tickets to ticket agencies for tonight's game which have now been returned, when those tickets could've gone on sale to members back in the summer and would've shifted.

Yup unfortunately I'm working and my ticket has been listed for over a week and not sold, my season ticket is only £380 so won't get much back, I wonder what they are asking for it
