Priced out?

The process of ticketing and everything that goes with it has fascinated me for years! I sometimes find myself saying ‘high ticket prices are the price of success’ and sometimes say that it’s awful to put the prices up for games like £50/£60 for Southampton at home for members for example.
I got a flexi gold this season and still annoyed about the £150 ‘membership fee’ to guarantee my seat.

There won’t be any more gold season tickets as long as we are an elite team.

If we get charged/relegated I fear that the club will be desperate to get fans back in as thousands will piss off.
You have teens and kids who have only known success, tourists who want a share of Haaland and pep.

Does anyone think the high prices and the fact they are trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible is because they are worried about the finances/charges etc?
They can't be worried about the finances.
They've just given us £10 each to spend inside the ground. :-)

I’m aware of the point you’re making. It’s a good one.

But it doesn’t negate the ridiculousness that there’s City fans seemingly trying to buy tickets off the club for a game with thousands of unsold tickets, which kicks off in a few hours and the club are refusing to sell them.
I agree. Those Barca fookers were just lauging at us. Most of the Club’s clangers in recent times had some decent intentions but were very poorly implemented and communicated. The row of Barca shirts was indefensible. The way back for the Club is to waive their 5% take of away tickets for the rest of the season. Any essential tickets for players families etc could be taken out of the corporate slice of the cake:

No. It's policy as I know our CEO believes we should pay more for watching a successful team. He even ignored Khaldoon's view that the fans were paying enough, back in 2017/18.

So I'm guessing we can expect reduced prices if we win nothing this season and finish outside the top four.

I also know he was also planning for an ESL, well before its short-lived announcement.

I guess the problem they have is charging for Cityzens membership and the main perk is to give access to matchday tickets.

So when they have a game like tonight that has tickets still available, they can't just throw it open to people like me who haven't got a membership as that is diluting the value of the Cityzens membership and may cause complaints.

Although maybe they have terms to say they can do what they want if tickets need to be sold, and if they don't, perhaps they should.

Absolutely not. The club are very confident about the charges.

We will post another set of record-breaking profits in the coming days/weeks...

There is absolutely no need to squeeze us legacy fans as hard as they do.

Membership gives people priority for tickets. Not a monopoly on them.

Any season ticket holder can go online now and buy two additional tickets for tonight’s game. They can both be in their own name and the club don’t ask or care who is actually going to use them.

So not allowing anybody else with a supporter number to buy a ticket to a game that is clearly not going to sell out, is plain stupidness.

We should demand his removal, we really should. It probably wouldn’t happen but it would make a splash and possibly raise a few eyebrows in the boardroom.
