Priced out?

There were 3 Germans sat next to my 14 year old daughter for the Everton match in SSL3. 2 of which were Everton fans. When Everton scored they jumped up and celebrated and had their phones out. Surprisingly nothing happened and nothing was said to them. Maybe due to the apathy of the current run of form.

Luckily due to City’s ludicrous ticket prices there were empty seats that my daughter could move to next to me for the second half.

If not I’d have been worried all game about a last minute Everton winner - not because we’d lost the game - but in case it kicked off and I wasn’t there to look after her. City need to sort this out as there’s going to be a major incident with away fans in the home end.

Seems to be noticeably worse this season, where we sit there are streams of tourists coming to take their picture. When you can’t get season tickets to take your kids it’s a problem that will only increase.
Makes me laugh when Pep gestures for the fans to get going, he should be aiming it at the executives who have helped to kill the atmosphere, it’s dire and not getting any better. I thought the Liverpool game last year was due to the early kick off, but it was a sign of things to come, games which should be bouncing have been dead.

They don’t need to sort it out, because they don’t care. The only ones getting the ban would be the ones that snapped at an away fan, which for the club means even more tickets for tourists.

You couldn't get tickets next to your daughter ?

If you walk past the road that leads to main car park entrance car with the barrier on a match day, there are ticket touts offering to buy and to sell tickets. The club aren’t doing annything about them. Why don’t the club buy those tickets on the QT, identify the stand, tier and seat number, and block those season tickets. Unfortunately those blocked season tickets would then go to match day tickets sales. Which is the lesser of the two evils?

Pep gestures because the atmosphere is shite and there are enough lifelong Blues in the ground to create a racket.

Report it to City. They will deal with it. I had a similar issue so just reported it, never had away fans behind me since.

Wasn’t there a new job advertised recently, specifically created to clamp down on touting and related activities?

As well as on the outskirts of the ground, the same guys have been selling tickets directly outside the ticket office for every game since the ground opened. I’m not sure where the ticket office has been moved to these last two seasons but I’m sure those guys are outside it wherever it is.

There is zero chance that the club don’t know who they are and what they’re doing.

They clearly must have a very good reason why they go unchallenged game after game, year after year.
