Priced out?

Fully understand why many people think “fuck them”, after the endless snide digs from their fans over our ticketing/pricing issues in the past. Do think fan groups are going to have to work together though to put real pressure on the clubs. It was a collaborative effort that brought about the £30 cap for away tickets. Why can’t a similar thing be done for home tickets too?

I genuinely can't not agree with universal pricing but with who runs football right now all we can really hope for is a bubble to burst and for it to happen on its own.

IMHO prices are going to go up not down and punters who think they are missing out will pay for it. Fair play to our lot for listening though.

Have to say, I enjoyed reading the tweet below. We should all be proud of the concessions we’ve forced this year, I know I am.

It had reached the point though where I was starting to think a national organisation of fan groups was going to be needed which even involved working with United’s groups.

Bottom line, the execs at all PL clubs just want supporters with the deepest pockets and don’t care about the working class supporter who is being replaced. The fabric of the game is at stake IMO.

I hate United and their fans as much as ever, but there is a bit more sympathy than there was before. What is happening there with ticket prices is criminal.

We've shown the Rags how to do protests. It's up to them now. Unfortunately they've got too many tourists and day trippers who will still take their seats before the matchh starts.
It’s up to them to find a way to work around that though. Ours weren’t without challenges. If it hadn’t worked they would have been queuing up to laugh at us.

The £30 away cap affected a maximum of 10% of match tickets. At grounds larger than 30k it was a lower percentage until you get to the rags when it was only 4% of tickets capped at £30.
Football is much too expensive, but we aren't going to see £30 home tickets when it costs £20 at some fourth tier clubs and also at a couple of non-league clubs.

I understand your point @Ric but they are a club that has mocked us - and continue to mock us - for decades. They’re just using us for the time being.
Where’s the fan support from them for our loyal fans who have been inundated with shit comments for the last 4 years about oil money; cheating owners etc. AS FANS, HAVE THEY EVER spoken out about how it’s affected us? NO - they are revelling in it & thoroughly enjoying our pain.

Completely agree, especially on your first point. We’ve had two of the most well attended and effective protests of any club in the premier league. We had one voice.

United have loads of different groups all saying different things. Your right about the tourists, it’s got to the point at United where by if their hardcore fans stop going, they’ll al be replaced. We don’t have that currently

All fans need to stick together on ticketing if we want to make a difference though

There are economic drivers for lower ticket prices if you are selling a vision, and football is the most emotive commerce. This is going to become more important as digital tech advances and allows football clubs to project themselves around the world. American money flooding into the Premier League is thinking global not Bournemouth etc

It’s not just “each other” that they call c***** - they call us that & worse

Man Utd have a similar % of season tickets to capacity as City. They claim over 50k season tickets.

Don't be precious CC1 I'm sure we would have called them worse if the roles reversed.
I clung onto any bad word about the red shite growing up and gave it double barrels. Our floodlights are bigger, fergie time, Howard Webb, brown envelopes, your grounds not a stadium..

I wish the FA or premier league had the balls to come up with something against the red shite but they won't.
Having said that I have been giving it out for them having a waterfall in the roof, a zero food hygiene rating, rat infested stadium

Been thinking about this 'stand together' over ticket prices.
Most clubs I would support in the fight over tickets prices.

But standing along side dippers, rags and gooners is pushing it to far.
3 clubs that are at the front of trying to destroy our club. Have any of those fans spoken out against their clubs attack on City ?
These fans would be happy if City were relegated, trophies taken of us, even see us go bust.
Would I be happy to see the rags, dippers gooners go bust ? Yes I fucking would.

I would be shocked if any City groups stood beside these fans. Remember the coach attack, spitting at our bench, throwing the pint pot, the banner, not in my life time, the letter, the hacking, tapping up of Arteta.

So I say fuck um

To play devil's advocate, our club has just reduced matchday prices considerably due to pressure from our fans, rather than any real collaborative effort with other clubs' fans.

More than snide digs Ric. As a young kid, I remember Harry the Dog and Kojack battering
an old school teacher on the match bus back to Stretford. The school teacher’s crime was reading his City programme on the way back from the Derby.

Things are getting a bit weird when the dirty rags are seen as our allies. They aren’t.

Don’t understand your post. Somewhat contradictory?? You point out everything they’ve done to us over the years, how it affected you - yet think I’m being “precious” because I don’t want to link up with them to help them reduce their ticket prices despite the fact they watched on in silence when we took (successful) action against ours???
Bye
