So should I ignore them or contact them explaining I'm not paying?!! Oh and I've lost the ticket so have no idea how to contact them!!

Do not ring them as they will have your number and mither you to death. Expect a couple of letters then a couple more from a debt collectors then it stops. I've had a few and ignored all of them.

This. Don't contact them at all. You'll get increasingly threatening letters for about 6 months but they have no legal basis at all.

When you park on private land there is an implied contract between the driver of the car at the time (not the owner) and the landowner. In order to enforce the charge, they'd have to prove that you were the driver at the time you parked and, even if they could and took it to court, you'd only be liable to pay a reasonable sum to cover parking.

The only recorded case of successful prosecution is where a guy admitted he was the driver on a forum. If your OP identifies where you parked specifically then amend it and you're safe as houses. UPDATE: I've done it for you.

And this is the crux. They are not entitled to any punitive losses in a civil case so even if it did go to court they can only get the cost of the parking.

So, you owe them a quid?

I got sent 11 parking fines from a private parking company in Rochdale as they had my car coming in and out of the car park on CCTV and had just assumed I was parking there, I wasn't, I had just used it as a cut through because of the road works in the town centre - I sent them a letter and they have since wrote to me and withdrawn all the fines. Vultures!!!!!

the mrs got a ticket there last month so far 2 letters have not opend any and not going to pay them do no ring them it is a premium rate call
