Professional footballers who don't like playing football

I’m sure Mark Viduka admitted he didn’t really love football

He was very gifted too. Had a decent career but couldn’t easily done way more with his ability . Used to take large potions of time off with “injuries” and go to Australia because he couldn’t be arsed.

Viduka opened a coffee shop in Zagreb after he retired. There was a great interview with him a couple of years back, really articulated the problems in Australian football.

I remember Stephen Ireland saying he had no real love of football, which explains a lot. Former Southampton striker Pablo Osvaldo was another one too, retired early because by his own admission, he preferred beer and Argentinian barbeque to football. Joined a rock band after retiring.

I’m sure I read the Stephen Ireland hated football ,makes sense after seeing his lack of commitment, imagine being that good and not arsed
