Always found Marillion a difficult listen but I am liking this new one.New Marillion album came out on Friday.
With Porcupine Tree reforming this is going to be a classic prog year.
Same here.Always found Marillion a difficult listen but I am liking this new one.
Same here.
Followed them at the start and enjoyed their music with Fish.
I just can’t enjoy the Hogarth era though.
Some of the albums are good, I just think they lack the energy of Fish period. Apparently though live Hogarth and the Hogarth songs come into their own. Not seen them myself. For some reason I have never listened to Hogarth stuff. I dismissed them generally when Fish was there but eventuall got all the albums featuring him and a fair bit of his solo stuff.
They've just tweeted yesterday I think it was, that they'll be performing Close To The Edge rather than Relayer as it's the 50th anniversary of it's release on September 13th of this yearAnyone seen Yes recently without Jon Anderson?
I’m going to them in a small venue in Dublin in June.
Steve Howe and Alan White with them as far as I know. I think Geoff Downes, Billy Sherwood and Jon Davidson.
They’re playing the full Relayer album, as well as a selection of other stuff from that period.
Dont want to spoil it for you mate but to me they sound pretty horrible. Dont really know what Alan White is doing.Anyone seen Yes recently without Jon Anderson?

I think they’ll manage Close to the Edge better than Relayer.Really don’t know what they’ll sound like without Anderson singing.
Fnck it. It’s a night out.
Haven’t really gone near any of their stuff since 90125.I think they’ll manage Close to the Edge better than Relayer.
As you say it’s a night out.
I really can’t see me wanting to see Yes ever again unfortunately.
I got quite narked when they ousted Oliver Wakeman and the last two albums have been dreadfully poor.
Yes have always been a bit hit or miss for me. What I like, I love, but certainly not a fan of everything they've done.Haven’t really gone near any of their stuff since 90125.
Well I’m a dyed in the wool Yes fan but I’m not rose tinted.Yes have always been a bit hit or miss for me. What I like, I love, but certainly not a fan of everything they've done.
Same goes for Genesis...And Bowie.
Try 'The Ladder'. It was quite good in bits. I saw them do it live and it was a good concert.Haven’t really gone near any of their stuff since 90125.
Me too. I class myself as a big Yes fan, but some bands wander a bit too far from successful formats, which is fine, but if I don't like it, I don't play it.Well I’m a dyed in the wool Yes fan but I’m not rose tinted.
Some stuff has left me very disappointed. Mostly Magnification and beyond that.
Hogarth's voice annoys me after a while, I find it quite uninteresting but I can manage an album or two every so often. The new album's okay but there's bits on it where you think "Aaah, I wish Fish had sung that bit!". I listen to Fish's solo work more than Hogarth's Marillion but sadly they were much better when they were together.Same here.

I’ve heard The Ladder. My brother got it. I just explored other stuff since the mid 80’s. Yes were of their time, with me. I was obsessed by them from the seventies on, but The Buggles threw me completely. Never really recovered from that.Try 'The Ladder'. It was quite good in bits. I saw them do it live and it was a good concert.
