Prospects of winning our Champions League Group?

Juventus finished second in their group behind Athletic. They beat a woefully out of form Dortmund and a poor Monico to reach the semI where to be fair they did beat Real Madrid.

For me the key is just to qualify which means not losing the head to head to Seville. A draw and beat BMG and we are through. Even a 2-1 defeat is not that bad our two games are easier than Sevilles. To win the group I think we need avoid defeat against juventus and match juventus result against BMG away in Seville.

You mentioned Juve reaching the final last year.. But I remember them getting pretty decent draws till the latter stages of the competition...Which made their path easier to the finals.. . And this all happened was coz they topped their group and then it was the luck of the draw..

First things first, we need to ensure we finish in the top 2.

Given our victory mid week, should we go on and draw in Seville then, realistically, a home win against Gladbach should secure a top 2 finish (as our head to head record against Sevilla will be superior). If we're looking to win the group then, realistically, we need at least 6 points from our remaining 3 games, and we could really do with 3 of those points coming against Juventus. If we beat both Sevilla and Gladbach, but draw with Juventus, then we're reliant upon Juventus dropping points either in Germany (which I don't see happening) or Spain (which is a more likely scenario). What we need to factor in here is City have 2 very difficult away ties still to come and, whilst our results in Europe have been pretty good, our performances haven't been of the highest calibre yet. If someone offered me 12 points I'd snatch their hand off.

I think Juventus will be the team to miss out in this group. They won't get a win in Seville.

I expect us to get at least a point from one of the two upcoming away games and then finish with a win against Ze Germans.

We were fucking robbed against Juve - proper had our pockets picked.
I think we'll beat them at their ground and beat Gladbach at ours. I think Seville away will be the toughest of the lot though and can see us getting beat.
So for me another 6 points which I'd expect to be enough to top the group.

Yes, In the sense that they were in control for most of the game and executed their plan perfectly. We may have had more possession but we never looked like winning even when we were ahead.

Utter bollocks. We were outplayed by Sevilla for large parts mind, yet won. The most comfortable we've been was against Juve and we lost. That's football.
