Protest v Wolves

1894 group have just aged! The only one on CM I am aware has done much is Alex. The others in CM may be doing things I don’t see or hear
The club don't give a fuck mate and only visible protests will work....just my opinion.

He’s meeting City Directors fairly often. I don’t know why Kevin has selected certain words. I don’t know him well.
He is a skilled negotiator (allegedly) so he surely would be choosing his words more carefully? I was not saying you know him by the way just posing an opinion.
As an ex-Union negotiator I was trained to think very carefully before I spoke and definitely before I put anything in writing and that was really where I was coming from. I was not disrespecting you @Tim of the Oak. :-)

He’s defintely a skilled operator and I reckon keeping communications open with the club would have helped to advance the cause of fans. As have the protests led by other fans groups.

Not quite good cop / bad cop but something along those lines.

Yes maybe. I guess we wait and see. It really upsets me this disassociation between club and fans after all this time and the good the club have done. I know they are not perfect but ..... I guess I just want peace in the world. :-)

Never been a more important time to set up our own Supporters Trust....

....and another thing I didn't think about till last Tuesday's game...I have sat next to the same guy from my Maine Road days (we were moved over to CBL3 together). He is an observant orthodox Jew and is unable to attend games on Saturday and on the occasional fixture that might fall on one of the many Jewish holidays. So far, for more than 30 years, it's all worked out perfectly - me giving him my seat when I can't make it (as a London-based Blue) and him giving me his seat to bring a friend/family for games he can not attend for religious reasons.

He is now terrified, after 30 years, of losing his season ticket simply because he is an orthodox Jew. His seat is always full - by me - or on the exchange. Now, he is at a total loss about what to do. It might also be true of our Muslim fans, I assume, possibly over Ramadan?

I know we have a lot of Jewish fans - Manchester is the second biggest Jewish community in the UK, and the majority have the good sense to follow City. It seems not just unfair - but a poissible breach of the 2010 Equality Act?
There is actually a way around the 10 game thing which could help him, especially if he has friends/family who can step in for some of the games that he can't attend rather than having to put all those games on the exchange. It's quite obvious - so much so that I can't believe I'd never thought of it myself. It came from a Liverpool season ticket holder I spoke to on a flight over to Majorca last Thursday. The only caveat is that it assumes City's mobile ticketing works the same as Liverpool's for season tickets but I think it probably does. Worst case scenario is that the method doesn't work but you haven't lost anything trying. I'm happy to PM details to you or anyone else who is interested.

I’m going off the comments on here in the days straight after the first protest where many of the most vociferous critics of the Club said they couldn’t make it. Of course everyone is entitled to their view. It included season card holders.

Reading between the lines, I reckon more progress has been pitch rolled for the next meeting and the OSC might be worried that this particular protest might unravel what’s been agreed in principle. We don’t know but it seems strange the OSC would comment like this without what they think is a good reason.
I’m not sure I agree with that mate. Plenty of people on here attended and either way I don’t think it matters if they did or didn’t. It’s still valid.

If more progress has been made, why would you publicly undermine what the 1894 group and others are doing. Why wouldn’t you just send a private message and work together.

1894 feed in and have close contact with the chair of citymatters so anything like this is run by the chair well in advance and he just feeds down / forwards on mails we send him, to the individual members - as we saw recently with their "strike" ,which by the way, was a citymatters internal issue and nothing to do with any other group -members of CM tend to all have different views as some come from stand alone organisations whilst other reps can speak freely for themselves, so because there's always going to be a difference of opinion amongst citymatters members its' often easier to work with other groups instead of the osc and citymatters, who will naturally have a degree of politics attached to them given their relationship to the club, which is not independent, we don't ask them to sign letters that might put pressure on their committees internally, we just leave them out of it, so they are in the clear. currently 1894 are acting on the wishes of their members when surveyed, they wanted visible stuff inside the ground, outside the ground , banners and an open letter, so that is exactly what is being done. we have surveyed our members and would encourage all groups to survey their full membership.
