Unfortunately, the Club seem to be determined to press ahead with the ten-game policy. I've passed on over 80 correspondences to the Club that have come my way, such is the level of concern, and I would encourage anyone else who is worried to get in contact. Likewise, if you someone would like to raise their circumstances with the Club directly, I believe that the Access Team (
access@mancity.com) will be dealing with exemptions.
As the renewal information somewhat implied, the Club have recognised the need for exemptions. From the emails that I have seen that the Club have sent out to worried individuals, the gist seems to be that they will flag an individual's account with the relevant information and that the Club will have a conversation should someone not make the policy. I would much rather that individuals are able to secure an exemption in advance, which would save an awful lot of distress and worry.
The Club also provided reassurance as to how the exemptions policy would be administered, which was welcome. That said, I have to raise a number of cases where the Club have at first acted poorly to individuals this season over the fourteen game policy or issues with direct debits. Thankfully, I believe that these cases have been, or will be, resolved satisfactorily for the supporters involved, but it doesn't fill me with confidence about this moving forward.
The other point to raise is that reassurance to City Matters is all well and good, but more importantly, the Club need to be sharing exact information on the process via their own channels and fast, given that renewals run until 11 May.
