Protesters

SUVs are still inappropriate for cities.

Tedious second sentence, I don't own a car through own choice but have never wished to own an SUV. And I don't live in the centre of a city.

A carer on the rounds who can afford an SUV and the reduced fuel economy when she/he has to wait a month for their fuel expenses to be paid?

Are you for real?
You are talking an absolute load of old bollocks. I pay for my company car fuel on my credit card. I get 30+ days credit payment terms. The company reimburses me within 7 days. Are you for real?

Not an SUV fan, but targetting people in Bacup which doesn't have a train station for about 6 miles and is up hill in any direction and more or less country side 400m from the main road is daft.

In a bad snow year it is one of the places you willl need such a car.

Middle class wallies targeting poor areas.

Yes completely agree with that, diluting the point of the protest to absurd and cruel lengths.

Which probably requires them to take a car to get there to carry out the protest, so middle class wallies is being kind.

You are not a professional carer and this is not relevant. The majority of home care staff use their own cars and are paid fuel expenses in either monthly or fortnightly arrears.

They are unlikely to be able to afford the most fuel efficient cars but they are unlikely to be able to afford SUVs either. Or be daft enough to use on for single person journeys when they are hard pressed for cash.

Everything, and I mean everything in that picture, from the paint on the banner, to the banner itself; the clothes they are wearing, their shoes, the hi-viz jackets, the spectacles, the shampoo some of them might have used, the mobile phones, the Tarmac, the bus, the street lighting, the handcuffs, the tampons, the shops, the pacemakers, the fillings in their teeth, the false teeth and, of course, their mode of transport home, even if it is a bicycle - all designed, manufactured, distributed and bought using oil in one form or another.

Why does that matter? This is pointed out whatever is being protested.

You can still campaign for change.
