PS3 V Xbox360

Just recently got a PS3 after 5 years of being an Xbox man, and i have to say if your playing online, its not about the console, its about who you play online with.

Xbox has a great online experience, and i had many people i would go online with. Since ive had this PS3 for about a month, ive had more fun in that time, than i did in 5 years, due to who i was online with, like lads off here and a few other mates.

PS3 has extras like blu ray etc, and better graphics, but xbox has better online stuffs.

Depends what your mainly going to be doing, if its for some online, and some singleplayer, id say PS3, if you want proper online experience, XBOX.

I never thought id say this, but right now, i prefer the PS3, as im having more fun with it. I never thought id go against the XBOX

Not much in it really, I'd see what your mates have and get that so you can play them online.

Xbox
-No denying the multi-player is much better.
-Probably better Console exclusives (Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Forza etc)
-User friendly interface. Dashboard is easier to navigate.

.

I own both, my lad now has the PS3.

Chaps, thanks so far. Some things to weigh up. First and foremost will be graphics and gameplay, the online gaming doesn't really appeal to me but it's something i'll keep in mind.

PS3 has PS1 gaming backwards compatibility where as 360 will play 360 games ONLY!! PS3 is a free online gaming subscription (as long as you have internet) although it does have the tendancy to lag but I've not had problems with that for a while... Also PS3 has Blu-Ray so Blu-Ray DVD's work on it...

Xbox 360 has top notch online gaming play with little to no lagging but does require (around) a £30 subscription fee a year.

Not quite true. I just finished knights of the old republic again on 360. And thats an xbox origional game. Brilliant too.

PS3 does have the PS1 backwards comp, but only on the 60 gb version, which i was told is very unstable.

There are PS1 games on the PS store granted, but unless you get the 60 gb version you have to buy them in the store.

I've got both PS3 and 360 and they are both great machines ! I prefer the 360 but only as a personal preference ( easy to use , good games and the controller ) . I mainly use the PS3 so I can get liveonlinefooty onto the tv !! Still has some great games though ! If I was you I'd go for ....

.... a Wii !! ;-)

I have the 40GB and PS1 games work fine on mine.
