PS3 V Xbox360

If you are willing to buy second hand get both, they are cheap enough, you could get both for around £150 off Avforums. Personally I use Xbox for online and PS3 for blurays, xbox live is so much user friendlier than PSN.

PS3 has PS1 gaming backwards compatibility where as 360 will play 360 games ONLY!! PS3 is a free online gaming subscription (as long as you have internet) although it does have the tendancy to lag but I've not had problems with that for a while... Also PS3 has Blu-Ray so Blu-Ray DVD's work on it...

Xbox 360 has top notch online gaming play with little to no lagging but does require (around) a £30 subscription fee a year.

PS3 does have the PS1 backwards comp, but only on the 60 gb version, which i was told is very unstable.

There are PS1 games on the PS store granted, but unless you get the 60 gb version you have to buy them in the store.

I have the 40GB and PS1 games work fine on mine.

From the PS store or using the actual PS1 game dick?

All PS3's have perfect PS1 backward compatibility. But only the 60gb ones have PS2 backward compatibility, others can do it but it becomes laggy and glitchy as other versions do it via software emulation whereas the launch version 40 and 60gb ps3's have the emotion engine chip so they can emulate via hardware as well.

Had both.

Had a 360 to start with, then bought a PS3, sold it and bought an Xbox again.

The online experience is just so much better on Xbox.
You just have to pay every year

Its worth it if you play mainly online.

Yeah what he said!

Had the older like Ps1,Ps2 both great consoles.Bought my first 360 a couple of years ago.Because it was cheaper than the Ps3.I think a lot of people bought Ps3's for the blue ray because it was combined,as blueray players were expensive a few years ago.I dont like paying for online gaming but the content is worth it.!!!

xbox is for boys, ps3 for men

I think you have that the wrong way round, as i said in an earlier post I have a Xbox 360 slim and my lad has my PS3, most of his mates have PS3, they would rather buy a game than pay for XBL Gold.
