PS4 OR Xbox One

Has anybody played assasin's creed unity? I have never played assasin's creed, will it be ok to get in to?
Haven't enjoyed an AC since the AC2 (AC2 is still the best imo). Haven't played unity though. I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you've never played an AC before...the issue with them is that they are repetitive, you shouldn't have that issue as a first timer.

Didn't like any ac except the 2nd one but picked up ACU for XBO from cd keys £15
Best £15 I've spend in ages!!
Brilliant game and thank god they brought the assassinations back!
Def worth a buy.

My favourite setting was the first one (third crusade) but it got repetitive quickly...only 3 types of missions or so. AC2 was brilliant at the time. They all got too complicated after that and took away from the simplicity of the first 2. The whole fun of the game was climbing amazing historical buildings and doing awesome assassinations. The recent ones haven't had this at all. Unity does look like it's going back to it's roots based on some gameplay videos I've watched.

Holistic,

Because that link you posted is wrong. Take COD for example, the PS4 very rarely hits 60fps with it. It does though have a better resolution. The XOne version stays at 60 fps but takes a hit on resolution.

What they say it outputs at and what it manages in game are very different things and the differences in the multiformat games are negligible. Which version you prefer is up to you and whether you like framerate or resolution (or get a decent pc and have both).

I prefer and have the PS4 myself (although I still prefer the xbox controller), the One has come on a fair bit though to the point that if I was to make a decision now, it would be very close.

GTA V for PS4 arrived today, amazing stuff. Never played GTAV for xbox 360 so it's a new experience for me. I'm loving the first person shooter mode, makes shoot outs more fun!

Girlfriend bought me a PS4 for my birthday, had it about 5 weeks now with four games: DA Inquisition (finished) , Shadow of Mordor (currently playing), PES 2015 (dabbled) and Alien Isolation (yet to try).

To be honest, if I hadn't received it as a gift then I probably wouldn't have bought one until perhaps the end of this year; there just aren't yet enough good games. I've enjoyed what I've played so far (although DA:I was bloated and weak at times), but the games just feel like PS3 games with better frames-per-second and better lighting.

There just hasn't been the same generational leap that we saw between PS2/X-Box and PS3/360, and think that's because in the last transition we were introduced to fully functioning online play, patching, HD and motion control. The new generation hasn't offered anything new yet. Having to pay to play online on the PS4 is a step backwards for PlayStation and quite unjustifiable.

I'll get an X-Box One eventually, too, but there'll have to be a good catalogue of exclusive games before I do. If I was to be objective and pick out of the two then I'd go for PS4, but my advice would be to wait another year if you can.
