Traded Dying Light for Dragon Age Inquisition yesterday. Couldn't get into Dying Light at all.

Anyone looking forward to Doom 4?

What's people's thoughts on Bloodborne then? I'm a huge Souls fan, i've sunk 100's of hours into each game. The small changes they've made to Bloodborne from the souls series has completely changed the game, I'm surprised how different it feels.

I beat the second boss last night then stopped so i've not played it long enough yet to decide whether i prefer this to the souls games. The lack of a shield is a bold move. Takes some getting used to, was getting my arse handed to me at the start for a good hour until i started to get to grips with it. I like that it encourages you to play on the offensive though giving you a chance to earn lost health back for attacking straight after taking damage.

Not sure how the streamlined stats and seemingly lack of many weapons/armour/spells will go down, especially later on as i get further into it, so far it seems like there's not much purpose for going off the beaten track and looking for secret areas as there's so little loot to obtain.

The enemies all being practically giants is, for me, a strange choice. standard "villager" enemies are all about 3 foot taller than your character. It doesn't have any impact on the gameplay, bar maybe them having a slightly wider reach then you may be used to fom previous games but it's just a very odd decision.

Love the way they've gone back down the demon souls route of everything being inter-connected and the way you're rewarded for progress by unlocking shortcuts back to starting areas, i wasn't a huge fan of the bonfire warping.

One major flaw right now is the absurd loading times everytime you die or travel back to your home area. It's literally about a 45 second wait staring at a black screen with the title on it and nothing else. It's far too long but thankfully they've already come out and said they are aiming to patch it asap to reduce loading times.

Frustratingly loving it and is a great game.. Finding it harder than dark souls 2 one bugbear is finding the dam lamps! Was in an Area for around 30 mins patiently killing these hard arse snake people then got ambushed pushed down another path where alien like creature zapped the fuck out of me ):-| lost my 30k blood echoes and going back there where the terrain is like a dark forest would be a ball ache looking for my blood so not been back there since! The game is so vast though it's going take me ages to finish it, can see me taking much longer finishing it than it took to finish dark souls 2.. At the moment dark souls 2 is still the best RPG I've played followed by skyrim, BloodBorne could still top them 2 though but at the moment while I'm still finding my way around the game it's behind those...

After hammering it for almost a week, i can now say Bloodborne for me just about tops dark souls. The combat takes a while to adjust and it can be very frustrating at times especially when you get stuck in a corner unable to dodge out and no shield to help but the quicker pace of it just lends to a better game.

The demon souls-esque inter-connected world with the shortcuts is an infinitely better system than the bonfires, which just allowed and encouraged you to skip big chunks of the game once you had gotten through it once. I love that there's so many optional areas and bosses to find, stumbled upon some big areas by complete accident that i would otherwise had missed entirely.

There's a few minor things i'm still not keen on such as if you come across a boss that takes a few tries to get to grips with you can very easily find yourself out of blood vials which forces you to go farm some other area for more, the 99 storage limit is a real killer, you essentially get 5 tries at a boss before you have to come away to get more vials. Saying that, i've only struggled with one boss so far, that being Rom and his impossible to dodge aerial attacks.

I know they probably streamlined the whole stats and combat system of bloodborne so that it appeals to new players and it works great and was definitely the right thing to do but even so, i do kind of miss the more fleshed out stats and scaling system as well as the option to have entirely different builds like faith and magic that we had in dark souls.

I think From software is now big enough that they can assign 2 quality teams to 2 different games, i'd love to see Bloodborne develop into it's own series outright going down the faster combat route and the souls series to carry on with the classic slower paced style that it's renowned for.

Very good.

I don't think Wolfenstein is great. The first few missions are alright but then it becomes ridiculously fucking stupid.

As a ps4 owner I'm not liking Xbox having exclusive rights to the tomb raider series

Looking forward to Battlefront 3, loved the 1st 2 games, just pre-ordered the Witcher 3, looks like a great gam, Fable but more serious maybe.
