PSG (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

If you’re in it, you’ve got to try to win it???

Because we are not entitled to anything!!??

Call me old fashioned, but when I started watching City, European Cup, let alone Champions League, was not even a dream!!!

CWC, is a made up Mickey Mouse Trophy, which comes a long way after PL, CL, FAC , League Cup and Charity Shield, in my list of priorities!!! IMHO :0)
We're not going to get anywhere near winning the Champs League with the injury crisis we have. So would prefer to to be knocked out and concentrate on top 4 finish to qualify for next seasons Champs League.
I agree the CWC is a micky mouse competition but the financial benefits are huge. There may be more players leaving before next season so winning the CWC could bankroll some new signings.

:-( still can't believe we dropped Rodri for this
To be fair he was playing shit at the time. It was a silly decision to accommodate the useless Sterling but he hadn’t played well the weeks before. To be honest the team hadn’t either and took the foot off the gas which they couldn’t pick up again.

With the benefit of hindsight I bet Pep regrets not starting Rodri.

I note your opinion :0(

I don’t think that it is good to try and pick and choose what you will win and not win :0(

I am old school enough to just want to win the next game and see where it takes us :0)

Hopefully, you will win enough games for trophies to follow and with trophies, comes prize money and other financial rewards for the club.

The CWC money and all it brings is at the end of the season, theirs a lot more to play for before that should even be mentioned in any footballing conversations.

IMHO :0)

May be it doesn't tell you about PSG, it actually tells you a lot about Man City. This is because such shambolic performance has been the case of Man City in many games in the last two months.
PSG are this young, dynamic, high energy team of megabucks players - won nothing significant. We've had one bad half season in nine years.

I was just giving a reason.
At the start of the competition they had the toughest fixtures. Theres not a whole lot can be done about that.

PSG have incredible resources - tough fixtures against sides with lesser financial firepower than them. Tough games is not a reason/excuse. Some seasons the fixtures seem more favourable - but they're never contenders.

We have one more CL than them in fairness. They continue to dominate domestically as we have previously. Don’t think the other poster was wrong to say they’ve had harder fixtures in this CL than us this season.
We've been consistently performing better than PSG in the CL over many years. This season, they've been poor, like us, apart from their stellar performance against us.

I'm talking about over many years - not this season. This season, PSG have struggled as much as us almost.
OK
I thought you just meant this seasons CL.
Previous to this, its hard to fathom with the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Messi and a host of others that they have been so poor.

My bad - I need to improve my written comms . Yeah, they've had an unbalanced team of superstars in previous years.
