PSG Away Ticket details - Update now 2,200 tickets available

My sons not happy
He's on 12995 points and the money for the home PSG game has gone out of his account but no points yet so he's sweating on tickets still available at 3pm
I've just checked and my PSG home points are on. Tell him to complain, he should have the points now he's paid.

Out of curiosity, is that the reason why the new policy was introduced?

I can’t find any official announcement, and it certainly wasn’t the main reason why Chelsea changed their policy, (the quotes at the time, all referred to eradicating the racist element)
No one knows the real reason but it seem that English clubs are starting doing this for European away games. Chelsea do, the rags do, we now do. Not sure about Arsenal or Liverpool.

United introduced it as they had problems with Champions league tickets, they just used it for their Liverpool game also.

Loving the new ticketing system for this. Went to Sevilla & ended up in the home end as we sold out on around 13.000 pts (I was 1.000 short). I know the hew system may be inconvenient to some but must be better than my experience of talking to blues in Sevilla with just a few thousand points with ticked for the city end courtesy of points whores or a certain supporters club.

I agree with Manchester33, it is whoring whether for points or to court favour with a mate. The reason for the cheating is irrelevant.

If someone has more points then they should be before someone in the queue with fewer points, it is as simple as that. Ed's mate is not my mate and nor is he the mate of everyone else in front of him in the queue so this argument has no substance.

By the same token, I doubt whether there is a single person on this thread who wouldn't either a) Help a mate out who had lower points and didn't qualify or b) Would accept a ticket off a mate because they didn't qualify themselves.

Now if the club have decided to try and close that loophole from now on then that's their prerogative - I said yesterday that it probably makes little odds to me in terms of getting tickets in future as the vast majority of points that I've accrued since 2002 have been as a result of matches that I've attended myself (many of those matches were during far shitter times than when our away support was dwindling in numbers) so I'll be ok going forward with the very odd exception of the likes of Bournemouth away. However, if they're going to tighten up on this issue it's only fair that we see some transparency from the club with regards to where all the other tickets are going. They've already pissed a lot of people off with giving the new "corporate lite" fans the opportunity to buy tickets for any away game even if they had zero points at the start of this season. Then of course there's the supporters clubs allocations and how they're distributed.

Can't see why the club would care who ends up with tickets. If they did they wouldn't sell batches to corporates and agencies would they, anybody could buy from an agency including the opposing teams supporters, which is surely worse than the city supporting mate of a season ticket holder

Yep, I agree with all of that.

It is only human nature to want to oblige a friend/relative but now the club have removed that obligation from the high points card holder. Anyone who is not simply a points whore should applaud the club for helping them to avoid being put in a difficult position. So from now on its "sorry mate I would love to get you a ticket but its just not possible" problem solved...............unless you just are a points whore.

I, like you, earned my points in the dark days and don't have problems getting a ticket but my son who is in the 13,000 to 14,000 bracket would not have got a ticket today without this new system. I got one on Tuesday in the knowledge that he might not get one and that I would have wasted money on flights/accommodation etc but that would have been my problem and it would have been harsh but fair.

I genuinely respect Eds's willingness to look after a mate but rules are rules. The system might not be great or suit everyone but it just got a whole lot better!

Yep, can't disagree with any of your post either mate and with regards to the bolded bit it's only fair that those in points brackets like your son where they've just been missing out on these types of games do deserve a better chance of getting one. If this is indeed the policy for future European games then it's not great for our regular group that do European aways as half of them will probably not get tickets from now on but looking at your situation (and that of your son), I can fully see where you're coming from.
