PSG seal 150 Million a year sponsorship!

Where's Wenger and Dortmunds Chief exec, Hans-Joachim Watzke comments on this?

Their silence is deafening.

Well at least PSG have raised the bar and set the "new" benchmark for sponsorship deals. Funny thing is, if this was CITY, Twatini would be all over us. Every big clubs manager, chairman, chief exec etc... would drag our club through the mud. There would be an outcry.

Hope it's true.

Hope and pray that this is true.

Hopefully we spend a few quid to shit up United too. We are literally 2-3 additions away from Real and Barca so hopefully we close that gap.

Looking out for giants of Europe not the rags, they'll really start to struggle when they get spanked by Real soon enough. Scholes, Giggs, Rio and Vidic to replace, Evra and Nano could do with selling too so their expenditure will rise,.let's see what the journos say then.

F*ing hilarious.

hoisted by his own bastard ;)

Some f***ing horse driver.

Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) hires lawyer Laurent Platini, son of UEFA president Michel Platini. QSI, an arm of the Qatari government, owns a majority interest in the leading French club Paris St. Germain (PSG—see May 31, 2011) and is also Barcelona’s shirt sponsor. Michel Platini voted for Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup (see Around 2:30 p.m. December 2, 2010). [Goal(.com), 1/28/2011] Platini is also one of the men responsible for ensuring PSG complies with incoming financial fair play regulations, something it may have difficulty doing.

Well done PSG, IMO there is absolutely nothing wrong with what they have done. They are offering a service to a business who are paying them for it.

This deal is blantantly out of bounds. The "retroactive" component should be the first clue.

It should be easy to establish the market value of sponsorship, within a certain range. We have many years of sponsorship data for all the different leagues and the types of businesses that advertise, including travel/tourism markets.

Fair market value will take into account:

-what does this company pay its other sponsees (travel mags, websites)
-what would similar companies bid for such a deal
-domestic exposure and what other clubs get for similar advertising
-international exposure and what clubs get for comparable deals on average
-television presence around the world

There is not even close to value for money here, PSG have minimal international following, and French football as a whole even less. Qatar Tourism Authority are paying 100 quid for a packet of crisps. And another hundred for a retroactive bag that they didn't even eat.
