PSG ticket prices - Protest options v West Brom.

I'm more than a nice chap, as you fully know well, Worsley. What happened to my tour?

I did indeed hold up the 60(where was the £ sign) banner. Why wouldn't I after the ear bashing you gave me, D?

That aside, pissed wet through, beer in-hand, I stayed on the concourse on my own for 15 minutes at the start of the match. I appreciate it was pointless gesture, and I probably looked a right t***, but I said I would do it, and I did, regardless.

Hi JRB - this Friday? Tour?

Just a word to say that protest yesterday was pathetic, the banners were literally fuck all, seen more fight from a vinegar covered slug

The best protests are the ones that don't happen because the threat has achieved a good dialogue, I'm hoping that's what's happened, JRB will probably have a better idea if it has.

Are you surprised? Far too many were quick to jump on those who wanted to protest, they thought the club could do no wrong. Then coupled with the decent result in Paris and the good news of the price freeze, protests were bound to be muted.

It was always going to be low key in light of the ST price freeze which indicated the club are listening to the fans so a result was achieved even before any planned protests. However, the decision was taken to still send out a message to the club rather than shelve it altogether.

If you're there on Tuesday come and have a walk round to 115 and tell us how pathetic we are to our faces.

there will only be a good crowd at the psg game now because 1) we got a good result in the first leg - so loads of people have waited to see what happens. 2) massive pr drive from the club, spent tens of thousands on billboards, electronic billboards , radio adverts on national and local radio, two page ads in the Manchester evening news, bombarding fans with targeted emails (one sent 5 minutes after the psg first game) , thousands spent on posting postcards with "unmissable" on - direct mail to tens of thousands of houses.

all to try and sell the psg game. so it was actually more cost effective to sell at a lower price and have the ground sold out before the result of the first leg. bear in mind, a big defeat first leg would have seen 35-40k tops in the ground for the 2nd leg. tickets for this game have been on sale for a long time already and at this moment in time it still has not sold out. if the prices were right there would have been no moaning about the prices and it would have sold out immediately.

muted protests - protest was in line with what was appropriate. banners pre game and literally a minute of chanting and banners on 60 minutes to get disruption to a minute. then back on with supporting the team. it was at that level on purpose. there was a 14m x 1.5m banner which was going to be used however given the club have made a concession on season ticket prices and given the mood softened because it was 3 weeks on, that banner has been held back for the stoke game. the words will strike a chord with most City fans but we didn't want the media going OTT laying into City and linking it with the other banners, its not a war with the club. not sure what your expectation was, lots of garbage talk on here 125+ pages of hype and hyperbole - if there was going to be a proper organised walkout 1894 would have said so, they didn't because only 10-15% backed one and even then only a fraction of those would have actually walked out. that's why they rejected that idea and made a public statement on it very quickly so everyone knew what was what.

in 5 years time it could be £150 a ticket for Barcelona away and £100-£120 to watch us here...unless you start to do something. that might be alright for you fat el hombre, if you can afford it, no worries mate. it won't matter who we have on the pitch because people won't be able to afford to see it. City will be a club you just watch on TV. that's sadly the case for a lot of fans now who stuck by the club when it counted. if you decide to go to psg and spend £71 a ticket or decide to go to Barcelona and pay £90 a ticket you've made a decision to travel anyway. so you've also decided to pay for flight, other travel costs, food, drink and hotel accommodation. so the price is not the be all and end all but it is a major factor for home games. barcelona have a worldwide support, if a local can't afford to go, a tourist takes their place. City aren't at that stage yet.

clubs/ directors etc don't freeze or reduce prices because they want to or because they always planned to. they have to be forced into doing it. our club was not in favour of reducing away tickets to £30. they were forced into it. they wanted to rise prices again this summer for season tickets. it is now freeze. they were forced into it. how did the away tickets at £30 come about ? through fans waving "crappy banners" that hardly anyone sees. guess what though, pressure from fans is proven to work. surprised some on here haven't realised that yet

Let's just be glad that the game looks like selling out. We got a good result in Paris but it is only half way in the tie with the scores level!

We are the South Stand - you sound bitter that the game is selling out? I agree that the adverts are a waste of money and I don't think they've had much impact on the attendance. More or less everyone agrees the tickets should have been cheaper to begin with.

There was a bigger protest of sorts on Saturday. Ten thousand season ticket holders decided not to show up for the West Brom game. This gives an opportunity for Club administrators behind ticket price rices (unfortunately) to claim that season cards are not over priced. It wasn't people buying individual tickets because we'd sold most of West Brom's returns.

Protesting that the vast majority of city fans can get tickets for 40 quid to a champions league quarter final, when barcelona charge us 90 euros to sit in the gods and see fuck all for a tie in the previous round, whilst psg charge 70 euros for the same game in the same round. Haha you keep keeping on guys!
That's like saying you shouldn't complain that your local cafe charges £20 for a fry-up breakfast when the Savoy charges £40.

no mate we want the game to sell out, we want the atmosphere and we want the real fans to be able to go. we are trying to get the atmosphere going at the ground but we have a different fan base now and prices are geared to that new fan base. I won't be going Tuesday only because I can't afford this one. but you are making the point for me "more or less everyone agree the tickets should have been cheaper to begin with" - if thats the case why would anyone complain if fans make a point of that. fans digging deep once again. but we have to because it's our club. if we don't start making noises about ticket prices now then hardly any of us will be going in a few years time.
