They've just completed the signing of Thiago Silva for €42m.

That is some signing. Fantastic defender.

Is he really worth more than Sergio Aguero though?!?

I keep hearing a lot about him and admittedly haven't seen much, but is he really THAT good?

Playing for AC doesn't automatically make you such and I would be interested to hear the opinions of our Italian based Blues for a fair comparison to what we have at present.

That said, nobody out-performed Vinnie and Julian last season anywhere in Europe at domestic level. They were peerless.

Juventus' center backs were better. I'm not saying Joleon and Vinny weren't fantastic but Juve went undefeated an let in the fewest goals of all European clubs

i LOVE what PSG are doing with thier project. they will force twatini's hand re ffp and take SOME heat off of us.

paris deserves a top club in the city

If Thiago Silva was ten years younger tha he is and was as good as he is now at that age, I'd say he'd be worth what has been paid. But he's 27 and wont get significantly better.

It's the position we were in though: clubs ask for twice as much money as a player is worth and say "pay that or don't get him" just because they feel they can take the piss.

Also his nationality makes people think he's a superstar player before they have ever really watched him play.

Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player.

It take it you're not familiar with the wit and wisdom of Chris Coleman, Soulboy.

Is that the little guy from Diff'rent Strokes... "What you talkin' 'bout..."?

They are building a top team, and my question is should we be worried
I am sure as well as winning our domestic league our owners will want to push on in the champions league, which looks like it has now been made more difficult ,we really don't want to draw these in our group.
Does anybody know what the financial comparisons are with our owners and theirs,as they seem to not care about ffp at all
