I can remember doing work to home 13 pints without wavering from the route, if I still lived there and worked at the same place I could drive it if I dropped to half a pint per pub and still be legal.

As for closed pubs, there isn't a single pub on Bury New Road from the Friendship at the corner of Scholes Lane to the city centre.

true enough...although the Star and The Palantine....and maybe even the Dover are just off BNR in Broughton.
