Punk and New Wave thread.

I was born in 1964. Loved The Jam and Blondie but the sound and sheer exuberance of The Specials was the closest to my heart. Terry Hall was a miserable sod but his take on stuff at that time was better than anything else. It was miserable and odd but strangely liberating. Said it as we felt it.

No I was only 14 at the time (and living in Coventry sadly)
First Banshee gig was Cov Apollo 1980

I had just turned 14 myself, but thankfully living in Failsworth. ; )
I had seen them two three times before I turned 15. I saw them again over here at the first lollapalooza gig .
A bit of searching shows the Clash, Siouxsie gig was in Nov and the Buzzcocks, penetration, Siouxsie gig was in Dec.
Trying to find out who played with Buzzcocks at the Mayflower club in 1977 now. I know the Slits were there.

The only gig I can find of them at the Mayflower was this one / two in 1978 - backs up your Slits claim too.
