Punk and New Wave thread.

Happy days indeed pal. Was quite expensive for me buying vinyl, gig tickets going city home/aways, plus time and money going fishing etc. Was always skint but happy.

Managed to see Zounds at least once, possibly twice. Good band back in the day.

Zounds were great. One, two three go...

Just found this on YouTube, not heard for must be about 38 years. Was one of the 7" single sleeves on the wall at Discount Records, underground market. A random purchase and very rare record.

Got that on a compilation of independent records from Greater Manchester. Will have a look when I get home as to what the history of this is. Reckon it may be a single release by that band.

Ah right. I think it was their only single. Can't even call it a one hit wonder. One of those records that escaped my memory until I stumbled across it on YouTube.

If anyone has any rare tracks by old punk/new wave bands then this is the place. Cheers.
I'll have a look cos sometimes members of certain bands go on to be more successful elsewhere. Definitely a no hit wonder I reckon

listened to the Vibrators first two albums over the weekend (Pure Mania and V2). Cracking albums and V2 was just about the best Punk album of 1978.
Shame they broke up at the end of 78 though they reformed a few years later but they weren't anywhere near as good..
Bizarrely, the track Pure Mania is on the V2 album.

I have a copy of Spiral Scratch that I got from John Mahers (Buzzcocks drummer) sister.
I also have a five pound note with Steve Jones signature across the queens face : )

I still have my copy of Automatic Lover.

Does anyone remember the Manchester band called V2? I only remember them having a single out (because my mate bought it). Just found this:
