Putin - What's his end game?

O they will defo find someone like minded, but Putin is a fucking expert at what he does and is irreplaceable. Could end up with a complete nutjob though but fingers crossed it's not.
Putin will hand pick his successor and the machine is built to run rigged elections so I don't expect much change. The only difficulty for Putin is that he has buikt up a personality cult around himself. If it doesnt translate to the chosen successor then their is only so far a rigged election can go efore the people take to the streets.

Putin's end game... why is this in question? Putin simply wants to remain in power.

Putin is a scum-bag dictator who cares most about remaining in power - at the same time, he's a nationalist, and would want nothing more for Russia to expand as much as possible, taking as many nations under its control as possible - as the leader of Russia this is a positive feedback scenario - I want to remain in power - the more nations under Russian sway the more power I have - the more nations I conquer/control, the more popular I become - the more popular I become, the better I'm able to remain in power - and so on...

Russia is fucked up big time - the populace currently isn't anti-Putin enough to oust him IMO - so it's more of Putin until he dies. And once he dies some other despot will likely emerge.

Read the piece with the Ukraine politician posted further back.

Putin doesn't want to occupy other countries when the oligarchy get the benefits of Liberal democracies in the west to launder and spend their misappropriated wealth.

Russia will never stop being russia, the place has been the same for centuries, tzar were replaced by tzars with a red star pin badge and then replaced by putin a tzar in all but royal title.

It has always bullied the nations close to it and tried to interfere and influence it's fellow super powers, but it will never go beyond doing what it thinks protects it's borders and ifluence.

There isn't danger that russia would atrack another nation directly it didn't think wasn't a russian territory.

It will be a cheeky **** and do fly bys and have to odd submarine pop up where it shouldb't be, just to wind people up, but dirrect conflict with europe, china or america it will never attempt as too many wealthy russians including Putin make a lot of money and hold a lot of business interests in them.
