Hard watch that. Couldn't help but feel sympathetic for the poor fool who has been manipulated by people spreading all this nonsense. Looks like someone who has had an eating disorder at some point and has a long history of mental health issues.

It’s tragic that people spend so much time and cause so much damage to relationships with family and friends by consuming and proliferating this poison.

There is a subreddit on Reddit devoted to people who have "lost" loved ones to this horseshit. So many sad tales of parents disowning their children, etc because of it.

A girl I know has this with her dad, reasonably well off background (two kids put through private education), works as an engineer for a major firm but has been taken in by QAnon, mark of the beast etc and took to drinking tonic water because it has quinine in it. Wore a mask before it was the law, then railed against it when it was.

Most of these people need to find a way to open up emotionally rather than bury themselves in these delusions.

I honestly thought by August 2021 a lot of these (including the anti-vaxxers, which are essentially in the same boat).
But no.
Even with family members you like, this causes a huge chasm and I'm quite convinced life is too short to be in the same space as these lot.

And as mentioned above, many of them are a bright bunch.
Social media has powered up the flat earther's (the gullible). I know many brains are wired differently but there's a point where you have to grow up somewhat and understand you're being scammed (whether it's the anti-vcxx movement, or the UFO'ers).

In a way it is unsurprising that these people are like this. The USA for years relied on paranoia in the fight against Communism. They are used to the reds under the bed propaganda and conspiracy theories spread during those years. With the fall of the Berlin wall and the collapse of the USSR there was an opening in the market for propagandists to fill these peoples heads full of nonsense. I see QAnon as a natural extension of Macarthyism, it has stepped in to ensure that the rabid patriotism that was established in the Cold War has an outlet. Back In those days of Macarthy, the Capitalists needed to ensure that there system was not threatened by anything socialised, now they are using QAnon to push back against ANTIFA and what they see as an increase in support of leftist politics in the USA.

The people on the video are no different to radicalised people from anywhere, they are fervent in their views, they invoke nationalist and patriotic themes and they are gullible to disinformation, lies and exaggerations. It is sad really, they are probably decent human beings who are just being used by those with wealth and power.

If you look more into it, it isn't just the USA. The "elites" in every western country are "involved". You'll find Canadians, Britons, and Australians buying into it. Trust me, this laarp hasn't just caught on in America.

QAnon isn't just about Antifa. It goes way beyond that. Moreover, it has been about 30 years since the fall of the USSR. I kind of doubt "propagandists " have been working on The Q idea,that long. It really just came about in the last 6 years, iirc.
