Qatar Stats - This is Truly Pathetic. What a Joke.

I don't see what's wrong with Qatar. They've put forth an attractive bid with an exotic feel. The fans will have modern accommodations and beautiful venues.

Unless those fans are Jewish as they don't allow any in....

And the temp will be average of 115-120 degrees when it's to be played. Should be some great football played in that heat....

Lovely place, perfect.

You mean Israeli as opposed to Jewish but anyway they will have to if Israel qualify, that will have been a condition of the bid being accepted.

All these laws will be relaxed. Jews, alcohol, etc.

And their high tech carbon neutral air conditioning will also be a wonder to behold.

It's all about Blatters ego isn't it?

The World Cups have been given to:
South Africa
Russia
Qatar

All 'emerging' nations, all political and no great thought into stadiums, infrastructure, security etc.

And why was the decision made to announce the 2018 and 2022 World Cups on the same day? Because Blatter won't be around in 4 years time when the 2022 bids should have been decided, so he brought that decision 4 years forward so HE could get the glory.

The IOC, with all its faults, seems to be the best way forward. Every country gets one vote, all in the open, with schedules and timetables set in stone.

Qatar: 2022 World Cup Hosts:

Here are the stats on Qatar (now tell me somebodies palm didn't get greased when they voted for this shambles):

Population - 2010 census - 1,696,563 (So perhaps Manchester should make a bid next time with 2,600,100 population?)

Area - 4,416 sq miles (Or North West England should put a bid in, at 5,469 sq miles?)

So in summary a country smaller than North West England with a population a third less than Manchester is going to SOME HOW host the world cup in 46oC temps. Pathetic.

An absolute joke.

Only money talks at FIFA it would seem.

I'm thinking of putting forward a bid for the World Cup in my back garden. It's an ambitious plan but it will create jobs, improve travel and is totally green. Trust me I'm an emerging footballing nation with a lot of expendable income.

I put that as my facebook status, moston for the 2026 bid with stadiums on balloons

Is that true?

if it is hang your fucking heads in shame FIFA

I think that giving Qatar a World Cup is beyond ridiculous, but two things need clearing up: Jews are allowed into the country, Israelis aren't (and they have already stated that this will not apply during the World Cup) and there is plenty of alcohol available there.
