Of the 3 matches to play Spurs, clear Pep was willing to concede defeat in the 1st - we'll see if it ends up hurting their overall chances in either of the competitions
Why is he willing to concede any defeats to them? They’re turd. No defending Pep tonight. Mahrez is wank and a coward to boot. Jesus offers sod all when we need him to and shows how badly we miss a fit Aguero. Delph doesn’t play for weeks then starts ahead of Danilo. Poor team selection and poor in game management.

If
struggled but still in it unlike last year.delph deffo didn't do kane on purpose

If you watch it carefully you will see Kane tries to do Delph and got what he fucking deserved.
As for the game Pep picked the wrong team in my opinion..
Delph always looks likely to fuck up at some point and he did again..he lost Son on the ball that was played in and then turned his back to give him a free shot at goal.
What does Mahrez contribute ?
He doesn't really create much and doesn't help defensively..
Should let Gundo take penalties from now on..not knocking Kun but he's not as deadly from penalties as he is in open play.
We were the better team overall but leaving out Kev and Sane was a big mistake...we missed Bernie.
Should still turn these over at ours but can't really afford to let them score.

I’d like to know why he waited until the 87th minute to bring on KDB and Sane. KDB should have been on straight after the goal or even before then.

An off night from the team and Pep tonight. Strange selection and a baffling time to make that double substitution. We can still turn it around, but that away goal would have been excellent.

These below par performances are becoming the norm - masked by results but when did we last really play at our best? I think games are catching up with us and inevitably some of the squad players like Delph and Mahrez just simply aren’t good enough at this level. A few players bang out of form too - Dave really struggling.

considering he wants to win this bent cup Pep put out a terrible team with terrible tactics. i'm confused.
Not for the first time either. I love the bloke but that double change at the end felt like a kick in the balls.

its 1.0 for fuck sake with a makeshift team they did fuck all beside that goal. pen shit Silva very quite and should have come off 15min earlier as was mahrez yes a away goal would have been lovely but we are miles better equipped at ours to smash them than they are us so come on city have some faith

How many times is Delph going to cost us? He just watched Son wide right unmarked and let him get in behind him. Sunday league.

It’s very strange why Pep seems to lose the plot in Champs League knockouts. If he’d viewed that game like our away Prem game we’d have battered them tonight, Spurs are shite compared to our strongest 11.

Fucking annoying.

Really hard to understand our thinking there. Yes 0-1 is not a terrible result, it's only a very poor one.

But WHAT ON EARTH was the point of waiting until the 89th minute to bring Sane and KDB on? WTF was Pep thinking, leaving it that late?

Genius manager, but capable of bonkers decisions imo. I am absolutely fuming at us wasting a talent like Sane as we appear to be doing. He's going to be one of the best players in the world and he can't get more than 6 minutes in a CL QF when we are 0-1 and needing a goal? It's killing me. God knows how he feels.

Should win the return but got what we deserved . David Silva is not at the races at the moment. Fabian Delph is shockingly bad . Hopefully that’s the bad game we were gonna have . I honestly think we will batter them at home though if we get the right players in

That team selection reeked of arrogance. Like we could play some of the second string away in a Champs League quarter final and still piss it. Pep got it badly wrong. If we were serious about that game we would have shown Spuds respect and played our strongest team.
I don’t think pep truly believes we can win this, hence why he’s saving players for the PL. It makes sense in a way, we have way more chance of winning that so I can understand his thinking.

Pep wanted to throw the CL and concentrate on the domestic treble. Did you guys not ask to boycott the CL? He just granted our wish really.
Sané, I think he must be flirting with Pep's daughter.
So he actually had a lot of purposes on that team selection.

Poor team selection handed them the initiative from the off. We have got where we are by playing to our strengths, so why change that for this game I have no idea. Guardiola seems to have this need to try and do something new (remember Gundogan at LM vs the dippers in the CL last year), even when it isn't needed. Play to our strengths and we don't lose that game.

Still not a game we should have lost though.

Very annoying.

Unbelievable this place.
That’ll do City, I make us favourites to go through next week
Delph was poor, and someone needs to explain the offside rule to Jesus, but that was never going to be easy.
I would have liked to have seen Kev and Leroy a bit earlier.
I didn’t think we could beat spurs 3 times in 11 days, but I think we can beat them twice at home, an early goal next week please boys.
