Hmmm, we looked largely comfortable but they had a threat.
We didn't look particularly threatening ourselves - but eeked out a few half chances.
I'm not too disappointed with the result - more with the performance, but even then...

...it resets the 'win clock', taking the pressure off from that perspective.
It will focus their minds (incl Pep) that nothing, NOTHING can be taken for granted,
and we are certainly capable of winning all our games until the end of the season from this point onwards.

I think Pep will be feeling the same.

Pep cocked this up plain and simple. And I'm not convinced we'll have the legs to turn it round. If we're brutally honest we've had 3 easy Cup campaigns so far so I'd EXPECT us to win them. The minute we come up against a half decent side with a little nous and we're playing at half pace we lose. We need to get back on track against Palace to remind people who we really are and show tonight was a blip. I just worry we're running out of steam as the intensity in our play has been missing for a few weeks. Yes we've won games but we've not been challenged. As soon as the challenge is there we're struggling. To say I'm feeling flat right now is an understatement......

Got to expect them to get a goal at our place, meaning realistically we need to score three. This isn’t a given.

Delph isn’t at the required standard.
Mahrez slows everything down and takes 10 too many touches before playing a ball which never seems to go to one of our men.
Spurs’ players must have got such a lift when they saw them on the starting lineup.

Poor play Pep, I hope you make amends in the 2nd leg

When he went off and seen Moura getting ready I thought to myself 'Ah ffs'...
Makes them more dangerous on counter attacks next week. Kane is their target man he slows their game up and he's sh*t at doing it. Pity Delph didn't do a number on Son instead.
Yip,they will be far more dangerous and more pace up top,Kane injury actually suits them in my opinion..

Pep 1000000% to blame. Piss poor team, bizarre lack of substitutions.

Bizarre lack of substitutions has been a running theme this season. Palace at home with stones in midfield looked like a mistake within 10 mins but we did nothing. Schalke away we didn't change anything until otamendi's sending off forced us to. I just don't get it.

What a ground and what an atmosphere. I'm jealous.. very poor by city's standards tonight but next week we have the chance to turn it back round. Team selection was maybe to give some players a much needed rest perhaps. Up the blues. Never give up on this amazing team.

Nothing more frustrating than Mr offside Gabriel Jesus coming on and being caught offside within 10seconds, and to think some people think he's going to fill Agueros boots when he eventually leaves

We have been playing in 3rd gear for a month or more now , we know we have got two or three more gears but its up to Pep and the players to select those gears or we are not going any further in the Champs league or retaining our title , its now or never , mediocrity wont cut it at this stage of the season

On the plus side if there was one game that we could afford to lose 1:0 from the remaining fixtures then this was the one.

There are many other positives as well
We are not out of this by any stretch of the imagination.
We will now have to go full strength in the return leg.
Kane is highly likely to be out.
We could have Bernardo back and maybe Mendy or Zinch.
Hopefully Mahrez will find a seat on the bench.

its only a bad result because we missed a pen and we were bad, if spurs had 80% possesion and hit the post 3 time we would all be dancing around
It's a bad result because the tie is now more difficult to win. I thought this was going to be more difficult than many expected but I did not expect that approach from Pep. He's given them way too much respect and from a tie that we should have won comfortably, we now find ourselves in a difficult position.

there not that great mate as you seen tonight,4 points in the league out of 15, i think we will dismantle them 4-0 on the night
We're a better team than Spurs, but our line up must have given them a psychological lift. The slow tempo clearly doesn't come easy to our players - Spurs had plenty of time to close us down. Our first touch isn't great at the slower pace. Don't know why. The pitch was clearly shit, but shit for both teams.

Some perspective here fellow Blues,we dominated possession tonight and gave up very few chances,we ought to beat Spurs at home with our home game and KDB and Sane back in,Spurs sat back and played like a poor away team at their grand European opening game and nicked a winner to be honest against the run of play, always felt like the crowd willed them to victory tonight and with a weakened first 11 we were bound to be on the back foot some time in the game.Subs were made far too late to make any change and it smacked of Pep lacking some decision making at this level. He kept the big guns on the bench for Sunday and Premier League games to come so it was a balancing act which blew up in his face and ought to have immediately brought Sane and KDB on to try to get an equaliser from the game.Aguerod penalty was weak and too close to the keeper and that face their team and fans extra impetus to support their team,we will need to crank up the volume at home next Wednesday to match theirs tonight and can recover this tie.

He over complicated things far too much in big away games when you need to go with your tried and tested.

He can say we played well, but we didn't. We offered no threat.

This
Said it a few pages ago . The tension has been broken and certain pressures are off now. Thought we deserved something from the game with an under strength side.
