He over complicated things far too much in big away games when you need to go with your tried and tested.

He can say we played well, but we didn't. We offered no threat.

In a world where we don't have the away goal rules, you could say we played well. kept it tight etc. You can control the game without really creating anything and know you'll get the chance to hit them at home, even if you let one in. Away goals do count though so it feels like we've dropped a bollock to be honest. Felt like our entire game plan was contingent on us not conceding. We did concede though, so it's hard to accept any claims it went well.

Just watching the Dippers - looks like Phil Thompson was in the VAR caravan. Salah foul was a straight red.

Not half. Snidey, like Ali On Kev last season. Also got away with 2 possible var pens... one 100%. Lucky

I thought the centre halfs played pretty great again which only makes Delphs selection even more confusing for me given Laporte had a successful run of games there earlier this season.

Does anyone why Danilo was not in the squad? Did we really need Kompany as well as Stones on the bench?

We won't win much more with Delph at LB this season. He had a fantastic season there last season as we were that good all over the park. When it comes to basic defending he is woeful. Every diagonal ball that was played from Left to right by spurs tonight he was miles away from the receiver. He's just not good enough for where we need to be. He is liability. Put any decent LB in the same situation on the Son goal and he doesn't get the space to turn and cut inside TWICE.

Its an uphill battle from here on in. I'm pragmatic we will score a couple in the return fixture but wether we will keep a clean sheet is the problem.

We made an average bag of miss shaped spuds look like fucking big shiny king Edward's tonight!

Pep fucked up with Mahrez starting ahead of Sane, and as for Silva, he was a passenger for most of the game sadly. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we needed De Bruyne starting ahead of Silva. .

I still think we will get to the semi but 'typical City' of old reared it's ugly head tonight.

Snails pace has been seen a bit recently. It’s okay when we are 2 up and closing the game out. Try it at Palace and we’ll be in trouble.
We have successfully done it against the weaker Prem teams. I said pre-match that we couldn't successfully do game management against a team like Spurs with so many good players.

The only players who can hold their heads high tonight are Ederson and Sterling. Even pep needs to give himself a talking to after that performance

As my lad said earlier... “I think he was born offside”
We had a break at the death and you could see kev wanted to pass to him but he ran offside AGAIN, so he couldn't make the pass and the move broke down

Pep shoulders the blame as he did last year, but he seemed to fix it at half time last year rather than 88th minute. Better chance of turning it round this time but far from guaranteed.

Disappointed but not the end of the world.

I bet the players are as puzzled as we are with Pep and what he was trying to do. Spurs were not in great form. They are well behind us in the league, why not play our normal game.

That is enough introspection now for me. Not going to get any answers. I hope City get back to normal at Palace.
