QPR vs City: Post match discussion [Merged]

Tough game. QPR really gave it a go but the worry was that every time the ball went into the box I feared they would win the header. Savic looked out of his depth although I think he will become a really good player just seems he's too small for a centre back.
Still, the City of old would have lost that game, shows how far we have come.
To me Dzeko was outstanding, his touch was a lot sharper and he worked his socks off.
That game proved to me that we are the real deal and will up there at the end of the season.

- still room in the squad for a commanding CB
- unless we're chasing a game....please never bring AJ on away from home
- the quality of Kolarov's delivery for the winner got a little overlooked
- the notion that Micah will eventually revert to CB is laughable
- we were massively unlucky that Warnock stumbled across a set-up / formation that "worked" in the last 30 mins vs Spurs last week...if we had been playing the 10-man version of QPR (with adel "invisible" tarabt) that played vs Chelsea...we would have won this at a canter.
- very encouraging that we didn't panic after going behind / being pulled back to 2-2
- nice to see Yaya step up this week and make a big contribution in both games

Excellent result, I only endured the talkshite 1st half commentary on the way to work, so not seen any of it, talkshite couldn't wait for us to go behind, and were disappointed we got back in it on half time.

Great fight from teh team today, go behind, equalise, go in front, get pegged back, but go on to win, we'd have lost this last year (and almost all of the previous 35 years).

Onwards and upwards.
Ah! Talkshite, the Mens, Coronation Street ,Eastenders (Just take your brain out to listen).

We REALLY missed De Jong tonight.
I guess he was injured ? Another of Bob's strange team selections for me, but they get results.
As Marvin says, I'm beginning to believe too.
I don't know. If I had to guess and it is just a guess it's that he's struggled a bit with fitness since his injury (not general fitness but the actual injury) and he played a full match midweek. Mancini probably didn't want to push him too hard. I think Nasri was injured and honestly he would have helped almost as much because he works well with Silva to help us keep possession longer. Either would have made the match easier for us. If we're going to sit back though and concede the midfield like that we're in for long, long matches.

Not a great performance but going away from home, playing badly and still scoring three says it all really. The City of one or two seasons ago would have lost that tonight. Like others have said, sign of a title winning side!

I agree entirely, but it was the only place I could go at that time for commentary, as I was on my way to work.

Collymore is the most clueless ex footballer pundit around, and that is saying something. One comment from him "Did Aguero come on on Wednesday night ? If he did, he didn't look very sharp, and he isn't looking very sharp today either". Idiot.

I felt Aguero was a bit frustrated throughout the game. Not sure why. He was trying hard, maybe a bit too much on occasions when he could have released the ball.

Feel sorry for Savic, he can be very good, just needs more experience of the first team football. Perhaps trying to prove too much too quickly.

Balo totally didn't need that dive :) I though he had a good chance staying on his feet..
