Queen Elizabeth II

Not a Royalist myself.

However, she was someones Mum, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Wife.

It's a 'job' she was born into, didn't ask for, maintained, and at times suffered with.

But by Christ, that was a fucking good knock.

How many of our parents would be embarrassed by some of the shit she endured in the last 30 years? The phone scandals, the shagging around to name but two...Phillips comments on more than one occasion?

She visited Countries and Communities, lifting the spirits of people, putting a smile on faces. Criticised when not facing the press, whilst consoling her grandson's and others.

A less stout individual may have crumbled.

Like all of us....she was a human being trying to enjoy life, tried her best and gave it her all.

M'aam, Your Highness, you have my respect, and gratitude

Sleep tight, and thank you for your service.

She genuinely did create a ripple here. The significance of her visit and her actions and speeches was not wasted on the general
public.

I think she impressed all but the insignificant few who will never progress.

Honestly. I like the rest of the Republic am not into monarchy but I actually got slightly emotional watching her speech in Dublin Castle. Over here it is being described as probably the most important and impressive speeches of her reign. I don’t know if it would be viewed that way universally but that’s how it was perceived here.

She did as much to change minds over here as any other British diplomat I can think of.

Thank you for your last 2 posts mate.

She was a shining beacon for us all who often become entrenched in opinions and positions and let’s hope we can learn from her and move on to the betterment of all.

She was a better British leader than any actual British leader during her reign
