Question Time

Nice tribute from Fiona to Benjamin Zepheniah at the end. He was a fairly regular panellist - nice to see tonight he is getting wide respect - Colin Murray on 5Live is giving him recognition on the Midnight Mixtape as Benjamin was a regular contributor
A top bloke and only right to give him recognition.

and having a mare..... he trots out the lines rehearsed in Cabinet and thinks they will survive contact with the earths real atmosphere

i don't mind politicians or anyone having a different view of the World but be please be prepared to answer a simple straightforward question.

It really winds me up that they are either so stupid they can't answer a question or think we are so stupid that we can't see that they are not answering the question.

It's the political equivalent of saying 'no comment' continually in a police interview, the difference being that the people you are disrespecting and avoiding questions from are the people who pay your wages and who you want to vote to keep you in a job. It's the same technique as corporate bullshit speak in business, just meaningless inpenetrable waffle to avoid answering a reasonable question. If you do it enough people get bored and can't be bothered asking, but is really just a way of saying "fuck off I don't have to answer you".

All this program is now is leftie porn, might as well just hand out flyers with pictures of past and present leaders at monthly intervals so the angry buggers can get it out of their systems.

Do you not think that a programme with a 45 year history has some gravitas - the BBC and the host are accused regularly of being Tory biased. I bet you lapped it up 2008 - 2010. Tories just need not send a representative and Fiona can state that.

You mean the program where there was a panel of 4, 2 of which were the extremely right wing looney former editor of the Daily Mail and the semi fascist Jonny Mercer.

So unfair they didn't invite Hitler and Trump on instead of a labour MP and a liberal leaning journalist, that would have been so much more balanced wouldn't it?

At least Fiona Bruce is on your side, the ref against Spurs was more impartial than that cow.
