Question Time

Diane managing to get the P word and N word out in one sentence there.

To put it into context it was an attempt to illustrate the kind of language used in hate speech offences against others....... its not like she just shouted them out for shits and giggles is it ?

Bet she knows the difference between a Loyalist and a Republican and where fucking Calais is...............

Just numbers she struggles with then?

I look forward to the next drill rap release bemoaning the lack of youth clubs for them to go sit in, play pool and chat nicely with each other.

So do you not think youth clubs are important help as a place to keep young people from just hanging around the streets being nefarious

Jordan Peterson is a nasty piece of work isn't he? Prosecuting a guy for shouting gas the jews on TV is a restriction of free speech and we will come to regret doing it. So not inciting hatred then? Presume he is a member of Momentum then..............?

The trouble is, inciting hatred can easily be moved to suit an agenda.

I haven’t seen the video of the guy being prosecuted and if the context is a serious one then I’d argue he’s inciting violence by that statement, which I believe should definitely be prosecuted but I’d also argue you should be free to hate if you want to, as long as you’re not inciting violence or other criminal activity.

Didn't watch this but did read a Peterson article in the Times this week. I know he's got it in for the left but it was a piss poor attempt at using the atrocities of Stalin, Mao et al to denigrate all left and progressive ideas.

You could just as easily blame capitalism for two world wars and every major war that has gone on since.

Human behaviour is poor regardless of political orientation.

I thought the Irish woman, EU politician, spoke very well regarding Brexit. It was certainly interesting to get the 'other side's' views.

The Tory MP's response was to say the public are 'bored of it all and just want to get on with it'! Good God, no wonder we've got nowhere in 2 years!

He’s not wrong though

Far higher standard of discussion than usual tonight. The freedom of speech issue is probably one of the hardest issues in politics because I imagine most people would agree there should be a line but the question is where to draw it.
I agree - it was a good watch on Thursday and a complex subject matter that is difficult to broach without causing offence.......

It was interesting to have an EU rep on (may have missed previous episodes where they have been on)......

Oh dear - Claire Perry defending Mayday has resorted to calling Corbyn an anti-semite - what that has to do with the question about Brexit God only knows - its does point to the problem the Tories have defending their record on anything

She’s a fucking idiot to be sure.

Right about Corbyn though.

To slightly lower the tone, yet provide some perspective amongst all this Euro-angst, is it only I thought she would definitely have got it back in the day, and truth be told still (probably) would now?
