Queues outside M1 turnstiles and over the top security

Could have been a lot worse.Spurs in the cup was as bad as it gets.
Thankfully M1 is nothing like that.

Big queues at M1 yesterday at 12 but I thought it was more down to dopey, slow as fuck stewards rather than any additional checks. My coat was zipped up and I wasn't asked to open it or turn out my pockets.

Different people all the time so some times (less frequently recently) it flows fairly smoothly and others like yesterday it's shite. M1 is always liable to be a problem due to the huge numbers having it as the only entrance option. Compare and contrast with M2.
It’s not because N1 is also SS3. Never have any problems there. Got there at 12.10 yesterday. In 2 mins later.

I would always prefer a high level of security over ease of access for a large capacity sporting / entertainment event prime for a potentially terrorist attack.
Problem is if someone is mad enough to blow themselves up the security at an event ultimately can’t do anything about it. Will be huge queues where the security is or when people are exiting the venues.

I know that but M1 is hugely overloaded. It was poor planning right from SS3 opening and it has never been fully resolved. The club seem to put some effort into improving things for a while but then lose interest.

Not all terrorist attacks are bombs, there have been multiple cases ot stabbings, probably more likely than a bomb.Thing with attacks terrorist or lone wolf attacks is the timing and where they are going to happen is unpredictable. Just like people now accept going into an airport, or many tourist attractions they will have to leave time for security checks, they will have to learn it applies to large venues like football and concert venues too.
One day there will be an incident at a football and concert venue and questions will be asked why security checks weren’t thorough.
Fans need to plan getting in earlier, complaining about a pat down just seems silly.
.
You’re right one day there will be and there is nothing you can do to stop someone who is mental enough to be willing to kill them selves.

Also the club or the Premier league could have told that the security risk has heightened, hence the more stringent searches ?
