Queues

All the security is bullshit and is a token gesture to tick a box, against liverpool i was 50 yards back in the que and it was taking ages and the searching was slow, then there was a massive downpour for about 5 minutes, all of a sudden people were moaning, and in less than 2/3mins iwas at the front, barely searched cos i moaned about theque and i was soaking,
everyone has an opinion and i know mine wont go down with everyone either, but there is more risk queing up and leaving the ground, the Manchester bomb occured after the concert when people were leaving.
photo id season card holders should be allowed straight through with a minimal security check, there is also a stereotype for certain terrorist organisations, but the pc brigade wont allow it as it would be deemed racist..
You clearly have a lot to learn about terrorism and how they operate

Feared the worst tonight as due to traffic only got to ground at 7.30 and when I saw the queue for M1 I thought I would miss kick off. Thankfully N1 into SS3 was virtually empty and it took a minute.

Some of the others looked long though. Were they dealt with any better?
Where I was no.

I understand fans should turn up early to get in on time but it isnt going to happen and for whatever reason the queues are still maxed out at kick off. 5 mins later and the head steward goes to the steward hut and brings out 3 more stewards to clear the line. Ffs why dont they do that earlier? Are they sat there doing nothing whilst the queues are massive.

Yep, any Irish Royal Marines (Ciaran Maxwell) should be strip searched.

Must have read my post from after the Palace game as we had double the number of wand wavers which kept the queues to a minimum. That said the crowd was a lot smaller than for Palace.

Much better last night at Z. 5 minute queue, proper scan by seemingly competent wand waver and in.

This exactly - seemed to be a lot better last night with more wanders. I walked past a couple of spirals on my way to Z at 7:15 with no queues.

As others have said, smaller crowd last night.

Not much smaller though. 45000 but no away fans and there would be a lot less no show S/C holders as they wouldn't be buying the tickets if they couldn't go. So there was probably only 3 or 4 thousand less home fans and most of the unsold tickets were in SS3.

Why would a terroist even bother trying to get in the ground there are thousands of targets waiting to get in .people are more vunerable while in the queue

And if he/she was detected, they would set the bomb off in the queue

As numerous people have said, if everyone is to be scanned/searched, do it at the perimeter when supporters arrivals are staggered, rather than the 10 minute rush to enter the stadium

We have often said that it'd be so easy to create mayhem outside the stadium. City Sq, the bars, the tram stop ..... all soft targets without any (visible) security. Though did see an armed police response car over the bridge and near the car parks at the first home game this season.
