And how many other terrorist act have there been since Paris , Shopping Centres in German , the truck crash in to the German market, the stuff going on in Turkey ! Like people have said , If some person/group are going to do something at a football stadium they will , these's check are not going to stop them , these checks don't make anything safer, possibly more a target , ie hundreds / thousands queueing to get in, You mention Paris, how bad would a Paris style attack be at the moment with all these people stood outside the turnstilesThen you obviously haven't read some of the reasons - They started to get tighter first vs Liverpool last year. That was straight after some loon let a bomb off outside the Paris stadium.
The Govt have warned all football clubs of the risk..The problem City have is they may be able to stop some idiot going in by doing these checks - but it won't stop an idiot with AK47 deciding to spray a load of bullets at people in waiting.
Nothing wrong with searches but it needs to be planned and co-ordinated properly. The RAGs have recruited specialist terrorism security experts to help them- I'm assuming we are using the numpty security company we have.

Whatever happened to the rags for that. Bearing in mind we got fined £30K for being a minute late for a game I'm surprised they didn't get a fine running into millions.
How much did the non conflict of interest FA CE fine his own club.

If the health & safety of supporters is a priority for the club they need to sort the defence out and make sure we get competent referees, as any more of these and I'm having a heart attack in the ground !
wish people would stop saying its the searches, the searches are not the problem as they are done before you get to the turnstile. The problem is since the wall was built people don't have the choice of numerous turnstiles, therefore there are not enough for the volume of people going in one area. Why would anyone want to get to the game 1 hour before and drink over priced beer that you still have to queue for 20 mins to get, and watch the players now walk up a fashionesque runway to get in !!!

It's about a yard from the turnstile hardly far from the entrance, the fact is the new security measures were started last couple of games last year and the queues started to get longer, they have now added frisking (which technically they cannot legaly do as they can have it but cannot touch you without permission) the last few games and the queues are even longer

Of course it's the searches. The turnstile throughput is about half of what it was before this was introduced. That's it *club source*, no name, or just the MEN lieing? Just blame the fans arriving late, drinking in local pubs, and the traffic.
No mention at all of the chaotic and unorganized searches at the turnstiles by Showsec stewards, etc.
I f***ing love it when the club and those organizing the security checks take no blame or responsibilty at all. Somethings never change in football or life.
And City sources say a combination of factors including increased security, heavy traffic, and the fact alcohol is not served at UEFA games, led to many supporters arriving later than normal and in turn causing queues.
Anyway, arrive early again against Huddersfield, or you will be waiting in a queue again. 8000 Huddersfield fans expected.

so when you have been searched is the turnstile completely free ? no its not so clearly the searches don't slow it down. Plus they don't search everyone.
Were you there last Tuesday? They were searching everyone (till ten mins before kick off) and it drastically affected how many people got through the turnstiles.
The tunnel only affects lower tier so between the tunnel and the away section (in both directions) is there any reason why any turnstile couldn't be used? Think a good thing is having initial searches take place around the perimeter of the stadium. Where the fencing first states (metal detectors)
If you need to take a full on bag into the match and your local just don't take it. Not Hard (females excused)

Well it does slow entry at the spiral turnstile blocks because there are 4 turnstiles available at each block but only two people doing the body scanning so at any one time there's a max. of two supporters using the four available turnstiles.the search is done before you get to the turnstile at the table, i never witnessed it slowing my entry to the ground
