I am very saddened to here the News about Nelly, my thoughts go out to his family.

My dad started to take me to City in 1967, he took me to the cup final in 1969 and I saw Neil score the goal against Leicester.
Neil was probably my favourite player at that time and I can still remember a goal he scored against United as if it was last week. City were attacking towards the Platt Lane end and Neil received the ball what seemed to be right out near the Kippax touch line, he hit a dream of a shot past Stepney into the top corner. I was right in line with the shot and I had never seen a ball bend as much as that.
His left foot was pure class
