Like Poveda. I was excited to see Matondo play when he signed but, from the games I've seen, nothing has ever really stood out. Watching Sancho, Foden, Brahim for years they stood out in pretty much every game.
Also these types of players are so common there's always another in the pipeline. I'm not too concerned really, certainly not as I would be if we were losing Doyle, who is the next big thing in our academy. He is a Foden/Sancho level talent.
To be fair, players develop at different rates so lower fees plus buybacks would be a sensible policy, should the player be open to it, but meh you win some you lose some.
I wouldn't blame the club for getting as high a fee as possible for these players who are a level or 2 below Sancho/Foden, may be wise to make hay whilst this Sancho-inspired goldrush is still a thing, even if we make a mistake here and there.
So Bild say €5 to 7 million with a buy back of €30 million whilst the Telegraph say €13 million with no buy back. Who to believe?
Could both be right.
If we decide not to active the buyback within X amount of time we get the rest of the fee
