RACISM!!!!

is it racist to point out a stereotypical view of the supposed difference in a certain part of the anatomy of a black man and a non-black man? thats what it comes down to.

racism is the idea that the differing traits of races makes one race inherently superior to another. unless you think that having (on average) a big wang makes all Africans superior to other races, then, no, it's not really racist, and it's certainly not what I would call 'racist abuse'. It is a bit naff tho. As jokes go, it's certainly one that doesn't get better every time you hear it.

Look the fact is that the 'hung like an elephant' song is based on the 'dad washes elephants' song and the idea that a big black man must have a big black cock. It's based on racial stereotypes of black men.

I was being served by a white guy at the bar today, and the guy next to me turned to me and said 'fucking hell they're making improvements aren't they? I spent all of last season explaining to the niggers the difference between a pasty and a pie. They don't get it.' This is the undertone and it depresses me how thick, hateful and narrow minded people in this country can be. The same guy is then going into the stands and cheering SWP for example. Goater is a cult hero who now has a column in the match programme. But he thinks he can talk like that in front of these people because of the colour of their skin.

yes, but it's harmless. unimaginative, and appealing to those who find things like that endlessly funny, but the fact that it's based on a stereotype isn't the same thing as it being racist.

I appreciate that it's nothing to do with the song, I just wanted to tell somebody about it! As for the streotype/racist difference, I agree, but it's only a small step and I'm uncomfortable with it. I can't know how many people recognise that difference, so I won't get my knickers in a twist, and assume that 100% wouldn't cross that line.

What if Mr Adebayors's actual occupation is to wash Elephants.... ?

how very silly he would be. elephants can wash themselves perfectly well. in actual fact, they're moving in on the car-washing market.
