And you know what. When a free market, free movement body starts campaigning on free kiddie porn or why you too can become a drug mule in this brave new world I'll be the first to campaign and vote against it. See how fucking easy it is?

There are always going to be some policies that we vote for that idiots benefit from.
I'll vote for increased personally privacy accepting that might also afford some extremely undesirables more protection too. It doesn't make someone a supporter of paedophilia / terrorism / espionage though.
We've got people too scared to discuss immigration for fear of being called racists, and that's not good for democracy. At the same time, we do have racists pretending it's a purely political issue rather than racial.
I do think a lot of leavers are feeling very defensive, but who can blame them? Still, I also feel many (both leavers and remainers) are still underestimating just how commonplace racism still is.
not all brexiters are racist, but all racists are brexiters. it really is a sorry state of affairs instances such as these. unfortunately this whole referendum campaign regardless of the result has given added impetus to racism and xenophobia. its beggars belief it really is
We used to be scared of discussing immigration but that's old news now. We wouldn't have had the referendum if people weren't prepared to discuss immigration and it has been a factor in the last three General Elections!
I disagree, I think we discuss it in gurded terms. I didn't say people don't discuss it, just that there's fear when we do.
Talk to someone about immigration, and you'll almost aways hear them qualify their reasons - because they're keen to make sure you didn't misinterpret their motives. That's the 'discomfort' of the subject coming through.
Rather than just say 'I think we need to control immigration' - there's usually a following '... because I have nothing against immigration, it's the numbers that we can't control'. That qualification tells you all you need to know about the fear of people being misjudged.

Surely not possible as almost all Snp voted remain and it's the out voters who are racist as few on here imagine.By that definition are all SNP nationalists xenophobic cunts who hate the English?

Was the elderly to blame few days ago,now it's racists.
Who's to blame tomorrow?
I take your point but in the circles I move in immigration has been discussed freely for donkeys.

And in the same report it was stated that there has been no increase in reported hate crime in manchester or in london. Thats reported to the police. There is in increase reported on a website but they didn't name the website.
So as I said the other day, we shouldn't be looking for more bad, we should be promoting good. We should be condemning these incidents when and if they happen but we should even more loudly be setting the tone that Brexit was not a license for anyone to express their racism and was not about racism and those on the leave side should be the loudest condemning any reported incidents of racism. Own the tone. give no breathing space to anyone who might want to claim otherwise.
