The question is again, do Atletico Madrid have much of a choice if someone comes in for him? It might not even be us, Chelsea are another club linked with him. Here are some things to consider from gathered evidence.

- Atletico are in extreme debt and with economic conditions in Spain things could get even worse.
- Atletico owe €21million for Falcao.
- Several Spanish and South American based people say he is 50% third party owned (Mendes).
- His transfer fee was €40million (+ €7million future incentives), if he is 50% third party owned that means Atletico have paid almost nothing for him so far.
- The Aguero transfer fee alleged to have been reinvested into Falcao all went to the tax man to service debt (source: The Independent).
- Atletico have in recent years been unable to stop any of their stars leaving when serious offers have come in. Torres, Maxi, Forlan, Jurado, De Gea, Aguero have all gone with little to no resistance.
- Atletico are shrewd transfer operators and will know they could find a replacement who could get the job done, just like they have before, just like other selling clubs such as Valencia, Porto (in Portugal), and Benfica (in Portugal) do. This is ultimately the role of nearly every La Liga team now except Barca, Real, Malaga, and Bilbao (somehow) if someone takes interest in their key talents.

He is a poacher but, he is not just a poacher. He has more to his game, so you can't just label him as a poacher.

The most glaring poacher attributes would be that he is the best penalty box player in the world imo...absolutely lethal in the box. His jump is absolutely unreal and both feet are accurate and powerful.

People throw around this whole "two footed" thing to a lot of players, but Falcao is one of the few that actually deserve to be called two footed.

Another thing I like whenever I watch him is that he plays so aggressively.
I hate to compare him to Carroll but whenever you watch Carroll, he is always busy bullying defenders off him, fighting for every ball, diving headers if he cant reach the ball...stuff like that.

Question: Is there a better header of the ball in the world than little 5'11" Radamel Falcao?

hes like a fuckin ninja with half of them header's....im still tryin to figure out how hes got on the end of some of them crosses....amazingly aggressive,accurate,powerful....hint of stupidity too but fuck it hes gettin the rewards...hes a better header of the ball than an on form dzeko

He looks an ashtonishingly good player. He scores all kinds of goals. 'Complete' comes to mind.

Never as good as Dzeko tho :)

Was talking to an Athletico fan yesterday. Asked him Kun or Falcao.

He siad Kun is a much better footballer. He creates more. Works harder.

Falcao he said is a "Killer", by which he meant an out and out goal scorer along the lines of Gerd Muller, Van Nistlroy.

Made me think that possibly that's not what we need as our front four need to be fluid footballers. Lots of interchanging and short passing.

That's right for players like Torres, De Gea or Agüero, but Atletico wanted to get rid of Maxi, Jurado or Forlán.

Could you post a story that confirms this please as there is some evidence that he isn't 100% owned by them or that they've even paid half of his transfer fee after the Aguero money went to servicing their debt.

Incidentally, here is an interesting quote by Atletico director Clemente Villaverde from last week: "Falcao’s the best player we have, so we should enjoy him until the end of the season."
