What do people expect they will say about City?

Even the most blinkered Blue at Wembley yesterday couldn't mount a decent defence of that performance.

It was shocking. It might have been a friendly, it might have been "close" but football pundits have to come up with a point of view, and there's nothing easier than a swipe at City viewpoint after a performamce like yesterday.

But it's the same for Chelsea... and Arsenal... and if Spurs lose a couple of games, it will be about them as well.

Big investment leads to big expectations leads to big criticism when it doesn't come off.

Would it be preferable when we were all complaining that TV and the radio pretty much totally ignored us when we were mid table? If you want to play with the big boys, that comes with the territory...
shocking performance .... whichever way you look at it we lost to the champions and euro runners up, in injury time hardly shocking .Not as good as i expected but to say we were shocking is fuckin laughable ,get a grip for god sake

You are so wrong.

The performance was shocking and awful. I was embarrassed watching the game.

I pray to god it was just a mad one-off but let's not kid ourselves. Play like that against any team in the league and we will get beaten.

Apart from a ten minute spell in each half, I'd definitely describe the performance as shocking.

I really didn't expect it either and that's the very definition of "shocking"

I think one telling thing about Mancini is for all the money he spent he only bought on 'David Silva'. A pure attacking mid who is small, slight and all about possession.

He spent millions on fullbacks and forwards. Imo, his philosophy is to be the biggest strongest defensive team on the field and have brilliant forwards that can find a few goals in the match. Not a bad philosophy but when you run into a team complete opposite of that, looking to hold the ball (Arsenal away comes to mind) you can look slow and can get outplayed.

I think Mancini is realizing this now and will bring in those attacking mids.

I was driving all Sunday afternoon and had no choice but listen to the match on this joke of a supposed neutral public broadcaster.
As others have said, not only slagging us relentlessly but also announcing that already this another "legendary" side that fergie has created, unbefuckinlevable.

It's no wonder smaller sides regularly just roll over and hand them the 3 points without even attempting to give them a game with this kind of hyperbole constantly being rammed down everyones throats.

You need to smell the coffee mate. It was shocking, but it was only 1 game and we did it when it counted.
