£500 million? Eh? Did we spend another £200 million overnight and no one told me?

Get with the project, when discussing City's spending - and ONLY City's - wages must be included in the total at all times.

any critism of that performance is

totally justified!

let's just hope it was a one-off!

What do people expect they will say about City?

Even the most blinkered Blue at Wembley yesterday couldn't mount a decent defence of that performance.

It was shocking. It might have been a friendly, it might have been "close" but football pundits have to come up with a point of view, and there's nothing easier than a swipe at City viewpoint after a performamce like yesterday.

But it's the same for Chelsea... and Arsenal... and if Spurs lose a couple of games, it will be about them as well.

Big investment leads to big expectations leads to big criticism when it doesn't come off.

Would it be preferable when we were all complaining that TV and the radio pretty much totally ignored us when we were mid table? If you want to play with the big boys, that comes with the territory...
shocking performance .... whichever way you look at it we lost to the champions and euro runners up, in injury time hardly shocking .Not as good as i expected but to say we were shocking is fuckin laughable ,get a grip for god sake

Forget the result, forget how "close" it was... we were shocking.

Apart from a ten minute spell we played like we were wearing our boots on the wrong feet!

If you saw anything positive in that performance, then share it with me.

Like I say, forget the result. Had we even clung on to a penalty shoot out and won it... it would STILL have been a shocking performance.

At this stage of preparations, the performance is far more important than the result. Once the season starts, then that changes, but at the moment I was looking to be impressed. And I wasn't.

You are so wrong.

The performance was shocking and awful. I was embarrassed watching the game.

I pray to god it was just a mad one-off but let's not kid ourselves. Play like that against any team in the league and we will get beaten.

We're besieged on all sides, it only makes me love the club more but at the same time the clubs should be doing something about this - never has there been such a smear campaign, Chelsea didn't get it half as bad. New policy should be to ban any representative of a newspaper that prints lies and slander about us.

you know it's true. Chelsea didn't get this kind of criticism. what's the agenda here.

or do they have a point and it's tough to stomach it.

Claridge is a complete c**t. Going on about Yaya never being an attacking midfielder. Did he not watch any games last season the w*****g b*****d. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

They only see what fits their agenda and they only listen to what they want to hear. They haven't got over the notion that another 'unlikely' team is there to challenge their presumed order of things re PL. The money tag is the easiest (laziest?) on which to hang their arguments.

Wait until we play in the CL and compare the comments to those that were uttered when Spurs were playing. Every reverse, every mistake, every game when a highly paid player doesn't perform stratisperically will be highlighted to the nth degree. I chucked TalkShite last season and this wouldn't be the first time that the BBC have delivered articles with not the slightest element of balance. By the season end I think that I will be 100% receiving 'news' from the OS.
