its jesus they need.... sinking fast- may out do chelsea xmas stumble of last season!

The signs aren't great for them (especially with the news about Vidic) but, 6-1 drubbing aside, they've yet to capitulate in the league and could well close the gap on us over the next few weeks. I'll be a lot happier if they start to drop some serious points and we don't. I agree that their squad isn't as great as some make out but Ferguson's biggest asset has always been in making the sum greater than the parts. It will need a sustained run of indifferent results before I'm convinced his ability in that field is beginning to wane.

^ ^ ^ THIS ^ ^ ^

Indeed.

In fact the rather worrying thing is that this uninspiring, lacklustre football they have been playing has given them their best start in donkeys years and as of this moment, they are 2 points behind us. And that's having played arguably more tough games than we have so far.

God help us if they actually get their act together.

Just requires the mentality of Basel the other night. They quite clearly went into that match with just enough respect but total belief they could do them. They should have done them at the swamp too
I hope QPR have a go next week the same way they did against us. Will they? I have my doubts with fookin Fergie arse licker Warnock but there´s no reason why they shouldn´t. In fact they should fear them less than us! If QPR take it to them the scum could be in for a very uncomfortable time. Don´t bank on it though

The stark truth is we're out of the CL and now in the Europa league. There is nothing we can do about it, there is nothing Fergie or the team can do about it.

OK its not the CL, its not the road to glory, but the truth is its the best we are going to get, and i for one would want as much effort put in to win the Europa league as I would the CL. Its the least the team owes to the supporters after what can best be described as an abject and uninspiring CL campaign.

Lets not beat about the bush, this group was one of the easiest ( on paper ) groups we've had in quite a while, and not one of us could envisage that we would perform so awfully, not once, but in almost every game we played in. We didn't deserve to go through... Putting it in a nutshell, as a team that has made 3 finals in the last 5 years, we were utter dogshit and we got exactly what we deserved for our complacency.

That said, we look a right spoilt bunch of cunts if we now turn around and say "well we're not interested in the EL because theres no glory in it".

Of course theres fucking glory in it. Winning the EL would put some credibility back into what is looking to be a very disappointing season. Theres every chance that we could be out of everything barring the EL come January. The league title is slipping away, out the CL, out the Carling Cup and an almost inevitable defeat away to CIty in the FA cup...

It could be the last thing we have left to cling onto, and if Fergie treats it with the contempt that he treats the Carling Cup, then we could well be looking at a season of winning absolutely fuck all ( unless you count the charity shield, then you are really clutching at straws ).

Given whats happening at City, and the promise that Chelsea are going to spend to high heaven to catch back up, theres every chance we could be fighting for our CL spots after next season. If we don't hit it right we could be playing in the Europa league a fucking sight more often than many of you desire.. What then ??

How fucking smalltime do you think our club is that we treat this competition as such an insignificant waste of time. Whilst we are in it, I will be as anxious for us to win it as I would be if we were fighting for the CL...

Fucking grow up a bit. We're not good enough now, and its not something we haven't all seen coming. This season is showing just what its going to be like from now on. We either get behind the team or we do what Fergie said we should do 7 years ago... fuck off and support Chelsea.....

Crikey, someone on there has some common sense!

Come on own up lads who's been on there website posting as though they were a rag.

I disagree - well, you did say "arguably"! Their tough games have, for the most part, been at home so far: Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Newcastle; Only Liverpool away of the leading pack. They won the first three of these comfortably, drew at Liverpool, lost to City and drew with Newcastle (W W W d L D).

City's record is w w W d and Chelsea away tomorrow and Arsenal at home next Sunday still to come.

the difference this time around is that its not really about what the rags do, it's about what we do

if we keep up our scoring rate throughout the season then we are in business regardless of what they do to keep scraping results

imo

They didn't beat Chelsea comfortably though. The result is deceptive. Chelsea had just as many good chances to draw or win that game themselves, Torres missing a completely open net being one. Was just one of those games where everything went the way of one team.

i genuinly used to sit back and applaud/ admire some of their play, the ronaldos, cantana,s beckham scholes giggs in the prime of thier lives.

There was a aura about them, WORLD class in every department, in the past if you signed for united you were quite rightly concidered world class and a great footballer.
a major signing to compliment an already great squad.

This utd side is a shadow of what it should be, anyone who says differently is deluded. i cannot remember a time when i would genuinly say i would not have ANY of their players.fucking amazing.

i truly beleive if City were not around in the form we are now ( money wise and stature) and we had not had the investment , then the YAYA,s Silva,S Nasri,s and Agueros would probably be wearing red instead of blue.
You see our investment has had many effects on other clubs and is showing up what they have been doing for years.
we have cornered the market and now the shite at old trafford have got to pick up the scraps

and the scraps that are out there are shite.

if it wasnt for the drunken master utd would be bottom half i assure you

Friday night i was having this discussion with a few red mates. at start of last season we just about agreed a 50/50 split between city/rag players making best team..........

Now they all agreed that a fully fit Vidic ( instead of Lescott ) and rooney 9 ( rather than Dzecko ) would be only players to make our team.......

The times they are a changin'

A United fans 1st XI of both Manchester clubs. Made me laugh.

I think our first XI is pretty damned close. If I made a team of the two, I'd pick more United players.

De Gea
Jones Vida Kompany Evra
Toure Carrick
Aguero Rooney Silva
Chicharito

Morons, on current form not one of theirs would get into our best XI

----------------Hart----------------
Richards--Kompany---Lescott--Clichy
------Barry------------Y.Toure------
Silva---------------------Nasri/Milner
------Aguero-----Balotelli/Dzeko-----

----------------- Hart -----------------

Richards --- Kompany --- Vidic --- Clichy

Nani ------ Yaya ------ Barry ----- Silva

--------- Rooney --- Aguero -------------

It amazes me how deluded they are about some of their players. A lot (not all) still think they are miraculously going to become superstars or, even more scarily, think they are superstars.

Anderson (23) 81 PL appearances and still crap
Macheda (20) 4 goals in 32 PL apps (for Sampdoria & rags)
Welbeck (21) 6 goals in 26 for sunderland, 4 in 19 for rags (he looks like he may be OK). 10 goals in 45 PL apps (half for them almost), decent mid table PL level at best ........
Brazil twins - obviously learning from Micky Owen how to keep their physios in a job. Not been impressed with them defensively, OK going forward.
Evans (23) 91 1st team appearances for Sunderland & rags, basically a bottom level PL CB
Gibson (24) 51 apps for Wolves & rags - Wolves is his level.
Cleverley (22) The next "best thing" - jury is out but I suspect he'll end up at Sunderland in 2 years. Oops no Steve Bruce there now, OK, whichever club Steve Bruce is then managing.

The thing is, by the age of 20 (and certainly by 22/23) they should be showing they are the future to become 1st team regulars at a club like the rags. The likes of Balotelli, Aguero and even Richards and Sturridge are showing class on a regular basis and have for the last couple of years.

Ha ha, I love this thread:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.redcafe.net/f6/how-many-our-players-would-make-into-barca-real-team-345170/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.redcafe.net/f6/how-many-our- ... am-345170/</a>

A minority on there think Wio and even Carrick, would get into the Real and Barca teams.

Fucking hell, Rio would struggle to justify a spot in Boltons team nowadays. Carrick is about as much a Barcelona player as I am.
