Felt sorry for him and Silva tonight, the instruction to hack down was evident. They couldn't get near Sané, De Bruyne was in too much space and they were no where near Jesús, so Silva & Sterling took the fouls.

He looks really good with hose two. All 3 make intelligent runs individually and collectively. With three sumptuous passers being them, they are devastating.
Aguero will help when teams sit very deep and incredible close controle, power, balance and drive become essential..

Cresswell got him with a really nasty one. Sterling just gets on with it nowadays, he's been dealing with this for years.

After rewatching the game, I can say I'm more impressed with Sterling than I was with anyone else. His application was top notch.

Really, there were instances when he did some wonderful things away from the ball that showed me he is on the verge of going nuclear.

2. There was the instant on our half when Silva was hacked by Lanzini. If you watch that sequence again the last 2 frame just before Lanzini hacks Silva you can see Sterling turn on the burners heading towards the WH defense. No hesitation whatsoever. Did not even look back to check on Silva, he was going to be available for a killer pass. But Lanzini smartly kicked Silva before anything could develop.

Similar Scenario, on Silva's goal. As Soon as Sane gets the ball, Sterling is already on the burners. By the time Sane Nutmegs the first Defender Sterling is open for a square pass next to him and kept readjusting and staying open for a pass until Sane drive towards the touch line.

These kinds of runs and action (including a tussle on the first goal where Cresswell was pretty much grabbing him from getting away to join the play, tells me the switch has flipped for Sterling. Don't wanna get ahead of myself here, but I think Hazard type perfomances could be expected from.him in the near future.

Sterling is about to go nuclear on some team very soon.

Sterling Jesus Sane -->
Hazard D.Villa Bale

He is really growing as a player under pep. This was the player we signed and he's only going to get better.

I see more Suarez or Tevez than Villa in GJ.
I was going to say, Sane is closer to David Villa in his heyday, just with more pace and perhaps slightly less of an eye for goal... at present, anyway.

Sterling reminds me of SWP with a much higher potential ceiling.

think we may see the best of him now. he has been the only fast player most of the time and expected to do it all on his own when we break. suddenly we have sane and jesus to occupy the defenders and i think he will look so much better. just needs to learn to put his chances away more clinically.
