10 if you include penalties won that we've scored from, I don't get why you wouldn't count them as an assist as giving a teammate a free shot from 12 yards is as good an assist as you'll likely give. Then you consider the penalties that weren't given to him that should've been and then you start to get a different picture, not earth shattering mind but then I can't recall anyone on here claiming it was.

It was in response to a comment about his final ball, which personally I agree is consistently poor. The lay off to De Bruyne just before Aguero's goal should have been a fairly simply one, but was anyone really surprised when he fucked it up?

Consistently poor is an exaggeration, inconsistent yes.

I will tell the one consistent with the lad.

He gets kicked to fuck for 90 mins week in, week out and gets fuck all protection from any officials, thats whats consistent about him.

He got dumped on his arse yesterday early on and the ref basically just told him to get up whilst blowing his whistle for a foul if any other player on the pitch got a touch.

I feel for the lad because the whole country and yes, some of our own seem hell bent on destroying him.

It is not great to slate one of our own,but lets get things straight here, this is a forum where supporters/fans whatever, are entitled to their opinion on certain players,it is debate, too many are getting over protective over Sterling, almost to the point of it getting out of hand at times, but even the posters who are defending him every week, must see that there are a few suspect things in his game, even the guy a page or 2 back with his numbered list cannot be serious.

Every blue will want him to do well, surely, but he his not filling the doubters, and yes I'm one of them, with much to get excited about.

As a defence for him,I'll play the age card, but as soon as I think that,I look at his career and how many top level games he has played, and have not seen a huge difference in his overall play, there has to be improvement, otherwise have others have suggested his days could be numbered at City

I think everyone acknowledges there's room for improvement ( I stand to be corrected on that ) but it's the gross exaggeration of his deficiencies which causes most of the people defending him to react.

On improvement, can you see the improvement from last season to this?

He was crap yesterday and got binned off at half time. Ive zero issue with folk saying he had a poor game because he did have a piss poor game but my point stands in that far too many have fallen for the media narrative of him being a money grabbing diver and its absolute bollox.

We have 2 players right now, Raz and Kun, fuck it, 3 i will include Merlin that refs are literally completely ignoring when it comes to them being kicked for 90 mins and for the players it must be fucking infuriating.

Sterling needs our support right now because his stats show he does contribute and given his age he can only get better.

In certain games at times, maybe yes,but certain games is not good enough is it ? Might look a world beater against lower, and I mean lower teams

Take last season with Pellegrini,he seemed to go down the wing, then check back, and look to find a pass to our (mainly behind him) fullback,so Pellegrini was slated for this, then think back to yesterday's match,ok he played 45 mins, but how how many times did he run with the ball up the wing, and whip a cross in,none,he gets to the edge of the box,and suddenly doesn't know what to do next,I'm 46 and would fancy my chances against that fucking Monreal ffs,he then was looking for Navas, who yes admittedly is a 100 times worse crosser of the ball, put it this way, injury or not,I wasn't surprised to see him hooked.

The debate then can go on for ever, bringing Aguero into the equation as I've noticed on here as well, but if the guy don't receive a cross from one of our wingers, what hope does he have really, apart from him to come deep, which apparently is what Pep wants him to do ? If we are not in the box,or should I say he isn't then our chances of scoring are slim

You'd fancy your chances against a Spanish international?

So when you say lower teams you mean Arsenal when we played them at home? You know when it was Sterling that got us back into the game. Or how about the first leg against Monaco or against Spurs at home when once again denied a stonewall penalty.

I think taking him off was a mistake.
Regardless of his performance in the 1st half, Sterling could always present threat and create opportunities.
