Raheem Sterling - 2016/17 performances

Still a enigma to me.

Last season I thought the jury was out. Earlier this season he was my MotM more often than anyone else. In some recent games, though, he has been appalling.

No. His figures tell exactly the full story which is he's been our most consistent attacker and is dropping off due to the huge amounts of football he's played this season. He's had an excellent season.

You're right, it doesn't tell half the story, the stats don't tell us how many stonewall penalties he's been denied, they don't tell us how many times it's been Sterling that has been our spark, taking the game to the opposition.

I'm looking forward to us getting more mobile players in defence so Pep feels comfortable playing the high press again because Sterling looked excellent when we were using that early on in the season.

Sterling wouldn't start for any other top team for me. I don't think he has the natural ability to become world class. I would be surprised if he has a big role next year and can even see him sold on the year after. Watching him week in week out I wouldn't use the words excellent, improved definitely from last year, failed to turn up in any big game again once more though.

Missed many sitters, a few assists have been unreal scuffed shots too. Sterling can do no wrong for many

Does scoring suggest turning up? In that case Zlatan has been a god over there hasn't he? if accepting scoring two goals in big games out of many this season is excellent then be my guest. Fact remains you would be massively wrong.
