Even if Sterling scores today, I don't think he'll celebrate because he's got too much class and is too much of a professional. Obviously, we all want to see him doing Adebayor but let's be honest it's not very mature. Plus, celebrating wildly at Anfield would clearly indicate that he cares what scousers think about him and it would be his payback time to them. On the other hand, if he doesn't celebrate, it just shows that he doesn't give a **** about them and he does his job as a pure professional which is mature and shows a high-level of intelligence.
If he doesn't care about them, then he'll celebrate with the same enthusiasm he does for every other goal

Pretty anonymous again. I'm just going to accept he'll never have a good game there unfortunately.

His usual Anfield no show.

Not sure what game you were watching but in a game where we finally showed some solidity and didn't get overrun in midfield, Sterling put in a massive shift, made tackles, interceptions, blocked shots, came inside to help Bernardo and Silva out a lot, protected Mendy and actually created, or was part of creating 2 decent chances for Silva.

Yeah he didn't run riot in attack, no one did, it wasn't that kind of game.

Pep was very happy with him when he came off.

I disagree,he lacked industry,he was weak,he lacked any direct threat and he looked disinterested.

Piss poor today in an otherwise excellent season.

Sorry but I'd suggest you watch again if you think he lacked industry. Opinions might vary on how well he played, and if he should have done more when we got forwards, but saying he didn't put in effort is just wrong.

Although not amazing, he definitely wasn't anywhere near as affected by the crowd as previously. It may be more difficult than we think for a player to just ditch a mental block immediately and thus I think he's taken a large step in his development today.

Lovely pass to Bernardo at one stage too.
